First, thanks for giving Wine by the Bar a try!
Your reviews are shared with other users, but they are not passed on to Snooth or other wine sites. (That is a feature we've considered but haven't scheduled.)
The value right now lies mostly in your being able to note wines easily (via barcode) so you don't forget them later. 2010 will bring a lot of exciting updates with a lot more "value" to you, your friends, and even your favorite wineries and stores.
Stick with us as we get this ship-in-a-bottle pointed in the right direction; we're sure you'll like what is coming.

We've considered adding this on the web side of Wine by the Bar, which would then make them accessible to you (and everyone else) on the phone. Our first priority right now is getting the native iPhone app complete. After that, though, we'd be glad to work with you to make this work.
Thanks for the support!

We're sad too! We're working on trying to reproduce this problem.
Do you have the latest Barcode Scanner app installed? (Use the Menu / About in the Barcode Scanner to get the version number.) – Thomas McKay, on August 04, 2009 01:20
Thomas McKay replied on July 08, 2009 21:11 to the question "App for Blackberry Storm" in Wine by the Bar:
Not a specific app (yet!) but you can make use of our Twitter interface.
After signing up for a free Twitter account, find a Twitter app for your Blackberry that includes being able to send pictures. (We've heard good things about both Pixelpipe and UberTwitter.)
Now go to http://www.winebythebar.com/iphone/us... in your desktop browser (Internet Explorer is not supported, and we work best on Firefox). Register and then associate your Twitter ID with your WbtB account.
Now you're ready to start noting wines through Twitter. Simply take a picture of the label (optional but useful) and then send a tweet starting with either
@winebythebar #wine
-or-
@winebythebar 1234 (where 1234 is the 12 digit barcode)
Include your note for that wine and you're done! You've just noted a wine. Now you can visit either the website http://www.winebythebar.com/iphone or use Twitter to search for wines later.
Hope that helps!

No, I do not have an HTC Magic to test on. Other users are successfully running on those phones, though.
Visiting the phone's Settings menu, then About Phone, what are the model number, firmware version, and kernel version?
I'll reach out to some other users and see if we can find any differences in phone settings.

A very valid point!
Our web interface is purposefully light. Wine by the Bar is intended to be a bridging product between you, the wine consumer, and online wine destinations. That doesn't help you, of course, if there aren't any destinations we connect to. The process of finding partners is slower than I would have liked.
That said, Snooth became the first destination site we connect to just last week. Integration with their system is progressing nicely through our Android phone app.
Wanting to search the bottles online is not unique and perhaps it's time to add at least a basic search on our site. Wine by the Bar has come a long way since our founding in January when there wasn't anything to search.

I had the same problem until filling in the "sum it up" field. This is confusing behavior as their is no visual indication that both fields are required. At a minimum the error message needs to clearly identify the problem.
