That sucks Jim... I really dont know what to do next. I cant recommend going back a version of FF since a lot of their releases tend to patch security holes. Completely uninstalling FF and you can install another version from here - http://www.oldapps.com/firefox.php Keep me posted and sorry again.

I uninstalled thumbstrips from Firefox... restarted the browser.... then reinstalled thumbstrips from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire... I also had XP.

I have spoken with Mozilla and they have told me that there should be no issue with updating. I was able to update on my PC but on my Mac I had to uninstall and reinstall thumbstrips to get it to work. Please let me know if uninstalling works for you.

You should be able to disable recording by going to the "configure" menu and choose "Stop Recording". Also, if you click on the "recording...." in the center of the thumbstrip viewer you can toggle it to stop recording and then turn it back on again.

That is exactly what happens on my mac as well. It sucks and we have tried fixing it and it wont seem to go away. We would love input from anyone else that has expertise in the difference between FF rendering on Mac vs PC, since this has been a real pain. – thumbstrips_jonathan, on April 07, 2009 15:13

We know this is an issue and I have it on my mac as well. I just dont resize the TS window. It is certainly not a solution but unfortunately there is no way to keep it from greying out.

As for the scrolling issue, I do not see that on my Mac. The scroll is the same as on my windows box so I would like to understand more about that. Try Scott's fix and let us know how that worked.

I also like this idea. We currently save the latest strip to the default directory but it isn't user configurable. I use Dropbox as well and we have actually had some testing in-house of integrating the ability to save to Dropbox, so we will see what we can get out soon.

I completely agree and this was one of the most requested features on the thumbstrips.com site. We investigated this for about a month and came to the conclusion that it is just too difficult to implement. Basically, it comes down to the way that firefox treats something docked on the side vs under the browser.

We will be open sourcing ThumbStrips soon and I hope that someone smarter than us can figure this out as I type this on my widescreen notebook now :)

This is a great idea J Dizzle! I think we were messing around with something like that early on in development, but were not certain where to take it. What do you think would be most useful?

Hi tmac - to make the thumbstrip larger just drag the separator bar higher. There is a limit though to how big the thumbstrip will get (a little more than double the original size of the Thumbnail). You cannot make it larger than that. I hope that answered your question.

Thanks for the compliment! A great feature of FireFox is the ability to customize the nav bar. You right-click in an empty spot on the nav bar area and actually drag and drop things into and out of it. That is how you can get rid of not just the ThumbStrips icon, but any one that you want.
