A comment on the question "Can I export the content of my Ning Network?" in Ning:
Holy Spit, st!!! Then again, Widget Laboratory had a program that could do the same, but Ning squashed that within hours. Who's to say they won't do the same here? That price tag is pretty steep too. But I think I'll have at it, and see what's what. Thanks! – Thunder X, on November 15, 2009 05:01

No Pic, No PassIt would be great if there were a way to set our networks to prompt members to upload a profile pic before they can be accepted. Any chance of this happening?

A comment on the question "i want to merge our group's facebook fan page and our ning network" in Ning:
That's because of the network's privacy settings. For you to be able to share your content on other social networks, the Ning network you are sharing from must have it's privacy settings set to "public". You should ask the admin or NC to make this change if it is that important to you to share your content. – Thunder X, on October 10, 2009 04:31

A comment on the question "i want to merge our group's facebook fan page and our ning network" in Ning:
What enhager is doing is using Ning's own Share function which few people use since they don't know it exists, since it's practically unnoticeable. At the very bottom (usually on the left side) there is a link that reads "Share". You click on it and you have several options of where you would like your blob, forum, video, photo, etc to be displayed: Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc. What I did was more involved, however, which involves connecting all of the available social media sites to one another, then to my Ning site. Long story.
You can also use Networked Blogs to publish your Ning blogs directly to facebook, or you can add an RSS app to your page, and even publish your blogs through Facebook's Notes.Netowrked Blogs is the best bet (though I use all methods). NB is great for SEO and your content is syndicated widely. – Thunder X, on September 18, 2009 19:14
Thunder X asked a question in SocialGO on September 14, 2009 22:21:
Missing LinkWill it some day be possible to properly feed my blogs through Twitter? http://mysite.net/xml/magazine.xml does not work through TwitterFeed, and using bit.ly posts shortened links that lead to a white page with my blog and some code dispersed throughout. The reason the former method wil not work is because the links back to my blog are all the same, anyone clicking the link to my SG network would be taken to the Magazine section itself, rather than the individual blog. TwitterFeed won't post any of the content because it reads each blog post the same, duplicates. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my using my own domain.

Sure. Ban him. That's what the button is there for.
Ning is supposed to be implementing something to prevent this, coming Fall. We'll see. – Thunder X, on September 09, 2009 20:00
A comment on the idea "Site owners friends with all members?" in SocialGO:
Your last request is spot on, Ray. I don't know if this was short-sighted on SG's part or not. I know Twitter will suspend your account if you add people to quickly and/or too many at one time. The assumption being you may be a spamming program rather than a real person.. But I wholeheartedly embrace your suggestion nevertheless. It is extremely frustrating to have to add friends the way we do now. I have members who have started groups on my network, but now find themselves having to add other members as friend in order to invite them to their groups. Even if one were to go to the members area and run down the list to click to add friends, the page reload is time-consuming and always sends me back to the previous page. – Thunder X, on September 05, 2009 13:02
