I have tried to embed a Voicethread (www.voicethread.com) into a V2 wiki without success - I guess your "code stripping" is not allowing it. As an experiment I just tried to embed a google map and, unfortunately, that didn't work for me either.

Uhg, that is so weird. I looked at the plugin thing, and it looks like it strips out the iframe part (you know, the actual MAP) and just displays the map.
Oh! OK, so go to the Google Gadget plugin again, and just paste in the stuff like you would if you're embedding it on a normal webpage, it just came up for me! It does have to be a "My Maps" thing, it didn't like using a regular map.
You can see it here: http://casey2ohtest.pbwiki.com/
As for it not displaying the side stuff with the names of the restaurants, you might just have to have people go to that page altogether, or have them click on each little marker for each restaurant, which seems annoying to even think about.
I'd love to hear what you decide on eventually though.
Good luck!

Bah! I tried to add the map again using the Plugin==>PBwiki Magic==>HTML and using source. Guess how it went. Not well. Am I missing something? Am I doing it wrong? Actually, I'm thinking this won't be much of an issue b/c Google doesn't display the list on the left side when you embed the map! Some of the restaurants are so close on the map that the list is almost essential. However, I would still like to know how to achieve my embedding dream if you have the time. I like having options. Thank you for responding so quickly!

HMM. I just tried this on my 2.0 wiki, and it doesn't work, but the link "View larger map" goes to the google page of my map.
This is weird that it doesn't work, but I know we've been having issues with the plugins and trying to get html and javascript to work on 2.0 wikis, so this might be another thing to add to the heap of complaints in this area.
What you might have to do until we sort this out is just include a link to the google map, especially if the librarians are getting really hungry.
The HTML plugin does work in 1.0, I just tested that, but it's no fun making a whole new wiki after you just did that :(

Tiffany asked a question in PBwiki on March 20, 2008 20:48:
How do I embed Google My Maps? How do embed a map from Google My Maps on my PBwiki page? I have spent a lot of time creating a Google My Maps of restaurants for a conference, and I want to embed the map on my wiki using the code Google provides! Librarians must have places to eat! I have attempted to use suggest the Insert Plugin==>PBwiki Magic==>HTML to no avail, as well as the Any Google Gadget option. I spent a ton of time switching from MediaWiki to PBwiki b/c PBwiki has a source option and I thought that would mean I could use coding!!!! Please inform me of how to achieve my goal or crush my spirit and let me know it's but a dream. Thank you.
