@UrbanTree123
Thanks for your post. I passed your question on to West Bank, our banking partner, and they provided the following response:
The financial statements of West Bank’s parent company are located in the Investor Relations section of the Company website (westbankiowa.com). The money obtained through SmartyPig is invested in a variety of assets including loans and investments.
Thanks,
Tiffany

Tiffany Brewer replied on August 14, 2009 16:01 to the question "Dropping rates too often. Bad Business" in SmartyPig:
@Emilie Thanks for contacting us. Your feedback is important. We watch the market closely, primarily what other banks are doing. And while we will always strive to be very competitive with regard to the rate we offer, we were simply too far out of the market at 2.75%. We held it as long as we could, so as to let our customers earn as much interest as possible on their saving goals. That said, our customers tell us the the biggest advantage of SmartyPig is the combination of rate + cash boost from terrific retailers + the social angle so friends and family can help. Add it up and easily SP is the biggest bang for your goal-saving buck. Thanks, Tiffany
Tiffany Brewer replied on July 13, 2009 16:02 to the question "Transfer in Vs Transfer out" in SmartyPig:
@Anthony We passed your question to West Bank, our banking partner, and they gave the following response:
Currently, we use a third party gateway for incoming ACH transfers. We do not use this same processor for outgoing ACH transfers and with the current process it does take 5 – 7 business days. We are looking to change both of these processes in the future which will help to improve transfer times.
Please feel free to contact me at support(at)smartypig(dot)com if you have any other questions. Thanks, Tiffany

@allanlewis While SmartyPig has only launched in Australia and the United States and can only currently be utilized by residents or qualified visitors of those countries, we have every intention of launching our product in the United Kingdom sometime within the next several months. Please watch for news of a partnership there and details of the release. Thanks, Tiffany

Tiffany Brewer replied on June 26, 2009 14:41 to the question "diff funding source" in SmartyPig:
@Anthony Thanks for your post. You can add additional funding sources by clicking Manage in the Funding Source section of your account. Only one of your funding sources will be able to be the primary funding source from which your monthly contributions will draft, but you will be able to use any of your funding sources to make one time contributions using the Add Money feature. You can read more about one time contributions here:

Tiffany Brewer replied on June 25, 2009 20:11 to the question "Can I deposit my savings funds into a different funding source than the one attached to the account? I have 2 external accounts linked to Smarty Pig?" in SmartyPig:
@Krissi Thanks for your post. I passed your question to West Bank, our banking partner, and they provided the following response:
You must have at least one successful transfer from your external account into the SmartyPig goal you wish to close in order to close your goal (by ACH) to that account.
Thanks, Tiffany

Tiffany Brewer replied on June 24, 2009 21:52 to the question "ACH taking Longer than 2 days -Complain to the Transfer Originator Questions" in SmartyPig:
@Mary
West Bank has provided the following answers to your questions:
1. SmartyPig initiates the ACH transfers. Transfers into your SmartyPig account can only be initiated by logging into your SmartyPig profile.
2. The funds are being pulled from your bank into your SmartyPig account.
3. Funds are not pushed.
4. At this time SmartyPig submits ACH transfers via a third-party gateway. Before funds are actually moved instructions will pass through at least one other gateway processor before settlement with your bank. This means it takes up to three days before SmartyPig actually receives your funds. We credit your account the day funds are received; we do not place a hold on incoming or outgoing ACH transfers. Please refer to Terms and Conditions “Timetable for Typical ACH Transactions” http://www.smartypig.com/disclosures/...
Please feel free to email me directly at support(at)smartypig(dot)com if you have any other questions. Thanks, Tiffany
Tiffany Brewer replied on June 24, 2009 21:48 to the question "What is SmartyPigs Hold Time on Pull Funds?" in SmartyPig:
@Mary Thanks for your posts. I passed this question on to West Bank and they provided the following response:
SmartyPig and West Bank do not place any holds on deposits received through the ACH process. Funds are credited on the same day that they are received, which typically takes three business days from the date the ACH is initiated.
Thanks, Tiffany

Tiffany Brewer replied on June 21, 2009 04:35 to the question "Goal completed! Can I just keep the ,money and raise the goal?" in SmartyPig:
@Sharron Once your goal has been met your monthly contributions will stop, but your funds will continue to earn interest until you manually stop your goal. You can always edit your goal to a larger amount, which will reinstate your monthly contributions until your updated goal has been met. Thanks, Tiffany
