I can only afford to check twitter a couple of times a day, and I don't have a computer on all the time to receive the tweets, so I was using gregrarious, a server based RSS reader, consume the RSS feed and save my friends tweets during the day, but it stopped working recently, I guess cause of this change.

I tried the authenticated url http://username:password@twitter.com/statuses/friends_timeline/52533.rss

but that isn't working either. Anyone have suggestions? Not being able to use the RSS feed totally reduces the value of twitter to me.

This is a wonderful writeup that gives an outsider a real feel for what writing and debugging code is like, especially the experience of building something, having it work fine and so forgetting about it, then breaking it by accident later and having no F'ing clue why its broken. Happens to me all the time.
