Casey Greene started following the idea "Automated Page Generation Utility" in PBwiki.
Tim shared an idea in PBwiki about 24 hours ago:
Automated Page Generation Utilityon elothtes, I've created a tool for us to keep track of broken links and info harvested from the wiki.
http://elothtes.pbwiki.com/Mindless-Otto
The tool can be used with any wiki, in case there is any interest.
I've also got a tool that will generate a wiki from a backup zip, but I'm giving the folks at pbwiki time to see if there are any server performance concerns with this script before I distribute it.
Source in C# is available for this as well for anybody who is interested...

Oh, and to answer the original question how can I configure my wiki so visitors only have to enter the password, and not their name and email? have a look at this demo page.
Good luck!

Yes, PBwiki often uses very creative definitions in their marketing and community materials. Mostly "well, technically, it *is*, but..."-type stuff. – Guy Fawkes, 7 days ago

Thanks guys for the response.............. I may have missed it, but if it isn't there I think it would be helpful to make it clear what pbwiki's defn of "public" is.................... not knowing about this feature has caused me significant incovenience and lost vital time on a community project I am running

I've done something similar with a Javascript implementation of what the OP suggested...a lot of creativity in here. :D – Vu Nguyen, 8 days ago

Tim replied 8 days ago to the question "How do you rename a web site (URL)?" in PBwiki:
I have a script that will do this if anybody is interested... I used it to copy http://elothtes.pbwiki.com/ to http://centuryoffire.pbwiki.com to test it out... turns out that my script worked fine, but pbwiki.com wasn't super happy with the size of the operation... assuming that your wiki is smaller, it should be a pretty straight forward operation...

A comment on the question "Have Business acct in pb v1; can we upgrade that instead of testing v2 with a free acct?" in PBwiki:
Well, I think Tim's referring to creating such a script on his end, which, if you are using the API, would indeed be trivial. For the POST...maybe you could make curl pretend to be you? May be easier just to wait for the proper function in the 2.0 api... – Vu Nguyen, 18 days ago

Just to make something? Yes, we already have that. To make sure that all the wild and wacky things users have done with their 1.0 wikis don't die a flaming death when they are introduced to 2.0? Slightly more difficult. But don't worry, we're on it :) – Casey Greene, 21 days ago
