You could use the API for this.. I've done such things with some tools that I've written myself using the API, so I know it to be possible.
If you attempt this, keep in mind that there is a cap to how many pages you can add within a set time frame (to prevent automated spam) so you'd need to write your script to trickle the pages onto the wiki.
Also... you mentioned that your wiki is large. How large? Performance breaks down on pbwikis that are truly giant.

Tim replied on September 29, 2008 19:07 to the question "1.0 vs. 2.0" in PBwiki:
Pbwiki 2.0 requires pbwiki accounts. it also removed the wiki markup as Clif mentioned. Pbwiki 2.0 also isn't really accessible for PDAs and other such devices because it's a bit heavier on the html/javascript side (in particular the WYSIWYG editor).
Other than that, 2.0 is more reliable, has better access control, organization tools, api support, user administration, and visual editors, as well as being actively developed so critical bugs are eventually resolved.
For my money, if you've got a small use case with minimal requirements and computer saavy users, then pbwiki 1.0 is probably the way to go, but for most people, pbwiki 2.0 is the right solution.

Tim reported a problem in PBwiki on September 12, 2008 23:53:
I can't see my administrator key...if I go to the admin page I can't reveal my administrator key.. that functionality appears to be broken in Internet Explorer (which I think is the most common browser).
It's been broken for about 3 weeks...

Tim replied on August 13, 2008 23:22 to the idea "a 2.0 wiki... that *anyone* can edit" in PBwiki:
sorry.. I don't think that there is a "less fancy" way to do this, since it's not something inherently supported by pbwiki....
but here are the steps:
copy and paste the snippet above (beginning with the div and ending with p) into the HTML view of a page on your wiki...
if you save that you will see that you get a signup link..
but if you try it.. it won't sign you up...
what you need to do is do the next step (it's a bit scarier, but just trudge through and it should work) .. get that special key from your wiki, then edit your page (in HTML mode again) and plug in the magic value that allows let's your wiki know that it's ok to create users from that link.
Sorry that it can't be easier than that since only somebody with admin rights on your wiki can get that code for you... although pbwiki could create a simpler page with nothing on it but that passwords if they wanted to make that part of it a bit more user friendly...
hope that helps!

Tim asked a question in PBwiki on July 24, 2008 17:05:
I can't get no satisfaction...I think that the new help is great... rather that just throwing you into a forum where your answer may or may not be findable, it does a much better job of directing you. It'd be nice though if there were a link to this web site on that page as well since sometimes you just want to bounce ideas off of a group of people.
The only way that I could get to this site now was from the pbwiki home page where there is a link to the community site. Any chance of keeping a link to get satisfaction from the help?
