case sensative sort of foldersis it intentional that the page sorting for folders is case sensative?
check the order of the bottom of this folder for an example:

Could be your desired behavior, but would like to know.

here's a relevant link:

this could be used to create "public" wikis....
Tim shared an idea in PBwiki on June 13, 2008 21:25:
a 2.0 wiki... that *anyone* can editRecent changes to the pbwiki 2.0 api have created a secure way to allow anyone to get editor access to your wiki without compromising your admin security. This should be a sufficient replacement for public 1.0 wikis that published their invite key.
Ok.. here's the source code you should add if you want to create a user signup page on your 2.0 wiki:
<div id="admin_key" style="visibility: hidden">YOUR_ADMIN_KEY_GOES_HERE</div>
<p><img class="pluginslug" contenteditable="false" src="/plugin_helper.php?plugin=googlegadget&html=%3Cscript+src%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fcopytest3.pbwiki.com%2Ff%2Fsignup.js%27%3E%3C%2Fscript%3E&w=200&h=50" isapbwikiplugin="1" /></p>
Here's a demo if you want to see it in action:
http://copytest2.pbwiki.com/signup
Here's what you need to do in order to use this script on your wiki:
http://yourwiki.pbwiki.com/api_v2/#Ad...
click the [show] that's next to opkey_adduser_edit on that page....
Don't be afraid of all the programmer speak on the page, it will not harm you.
Copy the magic code that it reveals for you into the YOUR_ADMIN_KEY_GOES_HERE from the snippet above
Tim reported a problem in PBwiki on June 13, 2008 20:49:
problems editing a google gadget...I inserted a google gadget into my 2.0 wiki page then saved, only to realize that I had made a typo in the script source...
when I went to edit the page and double clicked on the the gadget, the > and < symbols had all been encoded... when I made a change to the typo and hit finish and then saved, the plugin was all messed up.
Has anybody else seen this?

If you'd like to try out this feature yourself..
you can add *yourself* to this wiki (using another trick that I'm cooking up)
http://copytest2.pbwiki.com/addself
then you can add/edit pages using the "classic editor" links on the right hand side..
feel free to create a new page with the wikistyle editor.

Here's a wiki that has the classic editor implemented if you want to take a gander..

btw- modified the code so that it can deal with plug-in commands, rather than eating them...
A comment on the problem "How do I track changes to documents that I have uploaded to my wiki. When others open the files and edit, then save, the file on my wiki is not changed." in PBwiki:
With wikis... the wiki itself is supposed to *be* the document. The fact that you can upload files is really an add-on, not part of the collaborative/revision/multiple editors feature-set. – Tim, on June 11, 2008 19:32
Tim replied on June 11, 2008 19:02 to the problem "Links to new wiki pages are not differentiated" in PBwiki:
Clay,
This can be really annoying... there are also problems with 1.0 wikis above a certain size (at least with internet explorer) not displaying the red underline...
You can use a tool like this:
http://getsatisfaction.com/pbwiki/top...
to create lists of broken links, even if they aren't called out visually on your wiki.

A comment on the question "Can people comment without editing?" in PBwiki:
I think that if we require users to create pbwiki accounts to comment we'll get less comments.. I know that my wiki gets about new 200 unique visitors a day that have never been to the wiki before.. and it goes back to the amount of typing that you'd need to do to leave a comment versus the amount of typing your planning on doing in your comment – Tim, on June 11, 2008 18:56
Tim replied on June 11, 2008 17:37 to the question "Is the Classic Editor supported in PBwiki 2.0?" in PBwiki:
Nathan Schmidt whipped up a quick pbwiki 2.0 API call for rendering wikistyle text into html, and I used that to create a classic editor for 2.0 wikis.
instructions for putting it on your wiki can be found here:

A comment on the problem "Public wiki not so public" in PBwiki:
I certainly think that there's value to the mediawiki (wikipedia) model of your ip being your unique identifier if you don't have a login... for large wikis where editors may only ever visit your wiki once and make a single contribution, there may be more typing involved to get to the edit than in the edit itself otherwise.
I'm pretty sure that you'd want an "allow anonymous edits" button in your admin page, so that wikis that use the "the *somethingsomething* that anyone can edit" model can have a home at pbwiki, along with all the other types of wikis you've got here. – Tim, on June 11, 2008 15:57

tired of the 2.0 editor for quickly adding pages? Here's three edits that you can make to your wiki to get a "classic editor" that I created for 2.0 wikis.
page: SideBar
<p><img class="pluginslug" contenteditable="false" src="/plugin_helper.php?plugin=googlegadget&html=%3Cscript+src%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fcopytest3.pbwiki.com%2Ff%2Fclassiceditlink.js%22%3E%3C%2Fscript%3E&w=200&h=50" isapbwikiplugin="1" /></p>
<p><em><a href="/newpage">Classic New Page</a></em></p>
page: editor
<div id="place_form_here"> </div>
<p><img class="pluginslug" contenteditable="false" src="/plugin_helper.php?plugin=googlegadget&html=%3Cscript+src%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fcopytest3.pbwiki.com%2Ff%2Fclasseditor.js%27%3E%3C%2Fscript%3E&w=200&h=50" isapbwikiplugin="1" /></p>
page: newpage
<p><img class="pluginslug" contenteditable="false" src="/plugin_helper.php?plugin=googlegadget&html=%3Cscript+src%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fcopytest3.pbwiki.com%2Ff%2Fclassnewpage.js%22%3E%3C%2Fscript%3E&w=200&h=50" isapbwikiplugin="1" /></p>
A couple of disclaimers...
Once you hit save, the page is converted to pbwiki 2.0 style html, so it's "write only"... but you can still use it to add more content... I had fun using this to edit pages where all I wanted to do was insert [links].
additionally, it appears to strip plugins, so it's really best for plain test pages that you'd like to use WikiStyle to quickly create or edit.
hope this is useful.. It's probably the closest thing we're going to get to old fashion wikistyle in pbwiki 2.0 for quite a while..
Tim started a conversation in PBwiki on June 10, 2008 17:58:
transparency and pbwikiIt'd be awesome if there were a tag cloud (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_cloud) of what pbwiki was working on at any given time... engineers could end their day (or when they switch tasks) by putting in a few keywords for the feature/bug that they worked on.. then the users community could get the pulse of what is getting time devoted against it at any time... this would be especially useful because it seems like there are so many number 1 top priority things, there's no way that they could all be getting meaningful work done against them at once... (educator logins, office integration, mobile devices, better search, performance and scalability, migration and automation, etc)
I think that increased visibilty may lead to better dialog, happier uses (although I'll bet that 94% of all pbwiki users are happy, but its the unhappy ones that are drawn to the help forums, so they appear here in higher concentrations) and even a nice dose of the accountability that comes from self-reflection.
just a thought.
