Tim Daloisio reported a problem in IntenseDebate on October 15, 2009 16:07:

    Commenter not able to comment
A user of our site (http://firebrandal.com) is having the following problem:

"I do have an account set up at intensedebate as "xxxxxx," and that site tells me I'm logged in, but when I go to Fire Brand and try to post a comment, nothing happens. As I wrote before, when I mouse over either the "Login" button (at the top of the comments section, right hand side, below the link to the previous post) or the "intensedebate" login (below the comment box, just to the right of "Comment as a Guest, or login:") I see an error indicator in the lower left hand corner of the browser window (yellow triangle with exclamation point) and it reads "javascript: showLogin();" If I click on either of these, or the "Submit Comment" button, I get a similar error symbol and the notice "Error on Page."

I have just discovered that if I double click on one of those error notifications in the lower-left corner, a new window opens reading: "Errors on this web page might cause it to work incorrectly," and this specific error is cited:

    Webpage error details
    User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; GTB6; (R1 1.6); .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; IEMB3; IEMB3)

    Message: Object expected

    Char: 2
    Code: 0

Does that mean anything to you?

I have used two different computers running two different systems (XP & Vista), as well as two different browsers (IE8 & Firefox) and get the same results. Also, Java and Flash are up-to-date on both machines. So the weird part is that from my end it looks like your page formatting might be the problem, but obviously everybody else is having no troubles at all. Very frustrating. I'm sure it's some astoundingly simple thing that I'm either doing or not doing, or I've skipped some step that's plainly obvious to everyone but me, but I have to admit that I am out of guesses. "

Can you please advise? I can be reached at tdaloisio [at] gmail.com if needed.
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Comment Moderation issues
It appears the every comment in my Intense Debate install is going through moderation. I've checked as many settings as I know, but can not resolve. Can someone please advise?
