I would like to know this too. I am constantly being nagged by our vulnerability scanner and would really like to know if I can install some of these critical updates. Would it be possible to develop a chart with approved Microsoft updates?

Just a note, it appears that Carousel connects to cablecast over port 80. I got quite a few connection errors today because I had SSL required. Is this something that could be changed for a future carousel release (to allow 443 connections).

To fix this, I unchecked require secure channel and left the firewall rule to only allow 443 so the secure connection is forced externally and the carousel can still connect locally over 80.

One tip for people that are going to do this, after you secure IIS, reboot the system. Nothing would play for me until I rebooted.

Hello, I noticed in the 4.8.4 list of updates it said that AJAX now works over any port. Does this mean that we can now secure IIS over 443 and have the Autopilot functions work correctly?

Has anyone been able to pull a status from an RP in Autopilot? When the SX is playing something, it says "playing file x". When RP is playing something, there is nothing in the status area. Do I not have something setup right or is this not possible?

John - I can't seem to get IIS to allow the use of both https and http. Is this something that could be worked on for a future release?

Hello - I remember someone on the Tightrope staff had written an app to serve as a "Heads-up Display" that displays whats on deck and the status of the CableCast. I haven't heard anything about this in a while. Does anyone have this app?

I use Macrium Reflect. It's great because only Windows Server OS's require the paid version. Since SX uses Windows XP, there is a free version available. It has a lot of features.

Hello,

I have a cable display bulletin set to display 3 show records, but it only shows one and makes a new slide for each one. The settings are the same as they have always been, all I did was add a static text block with our website.

I tried only using file security on Login.aspx using a certificate, but it seems to stick the https to the entire site. Does anyone know how to only use secure channel for the login?
