Archived RSS news and automatic removal

I use Mail.app to read my RSS feeds on my Mac. News that are somewhat important for my work will be archived in a separate MobileMe mail folder.
My question: If I change my RSS settings concerning the removal of old messages to automatic, does this influence the archived news as well? Or simply those that have been moved to the trash?

Besides trying out Postbox, I'm currently using two RSS readers: Google Reader (mainly on my iPhone) and Mail.app.

Now maybe there's a way to address one thing that always bugged me about this combo: Is there a chance to sync the RSS feeds in Postbox with Google Reader? That way you wouldn't have to go through all the articles you already read once more.

Seconded. Also applies for RSS feeds. I REALLY need a single inbox for all my stuff. Clicking through two inboxes and lots of feeds won't do.
