Timothy Chin asked a question in Get Satisfaction on November 26, 2009 03:20:
Example of Fastpass Using JavaIs there any examples for getting Fastpass to work via Java?
I'm looking to add the fastpass cookie in to a request object so that when I visit the GetSat page, I will be logged in. Running the returned String (FastPass.url) in a browser works.

Hi Jo-Anne,
Wireshark is a:
Wireshark is a free packet analyzer computer application. It is used for network troubleshooting, analysis, software and communications protocol development.
This program would help analyze whats going in and coming out from your server and would greatly help to see how long these calls take. Please do watch the introduction video on how to use Wireshark - http://media-2.cacetech.com/video/wir...
Unfortunately, I do not think that it would be possible to combine them all into one call as JIRA renders each field one by one. We will continue to work on this but the best solution for now is to have a quick and free line towards the Salesforce servers.
Cheers,
Timothy

Hi Jalbino,
I am sorry that we missed out this question. I hope that its not too late to cover the questions that you post here.
Item 1. May I know how you replicate this problem as I cant. Is this during the initial creation of a JIRA issue from Salesforce?
Item 2: I was able to replicate this issue and raised a bug for this: http://greenhouse dot customware dot net/jira/browse/SFJIRA-54
Please feel free to comment on that issue.
Item 3: Can I confirm that you are moving data from Jira to SFDC?
then tried to use the “Sync to Jira” button in Salesforce to sync the Jira updates back into the SFDC Case.
Moving data from JIRA to SFDC requires that you setup the listeners while moving data from SFDC to JIRA requires that you setup S-Controls/Visualforce pages.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers,
Timothy

Hi Jo-Anne,
For every value in a JIRA custom field, a request is made to SFDC to retrieve the information. Im guessing that the requests to SFDC are the ones that are slowing the connection.
One way to diagnose is to enable Wireshark between your JIRA server and SFDC to see how long is each call.
Cheers,
Timothy

Timothy Chin replied on November 18, 2009 09:10 to the question "{date-data} does not show up until page has been saved" in CustomWare:
Hi Michael,
Yes. The Scaffolding macro works in that way in which the it does not save any page data until the page has been edited/saved once.
A work around would be to use the Linking Plugin in this manner:
{link-page:My Page|template=Template|parent=Home}Click here{link-page}.
This will allow the user to save the data and therefore make the Scaffolding macro useable. Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Timothy

Hi Vicki,
Currently, all comments from the JIRA issue get synchronized to are not filtered by JIRA's Viewable By field. I have created an improvement request here - http://greenhouse.customware.net/jira....
Please feel free to comment and add additional information to that issue.
Cheers.
