This looks like a great idea. Have you done any scalability/perf testing of the main page load (ie browse items). Seems to be a bit slow under what I would expect to be a "light" load at the moment. Best of luck, it really does seem promising and you've got what looks like a solid implementation out of the gate from my brief dabbling on the site.
