Thanks for this detailed suggestion. We certainly do want to incentivize long term predictions better than we do currently. If we were to employ a solution such as this we would have to work out the details and ensure that it did not over-complicate things for new/novice users. We will look again at this when tackling the long term wagering issue.

Dashboard goes live!Hi everyone,
The brand new Hubdub Dashboard is now live. It's intended to make it easier to see your and your friends' predictions, activity and performance on Hubdub at a glance. It replaces the old My Hubdub area, and your predictions can now be found on the new My Predictions tab.
The Dashboard shows your latest activity on the site (with links to e.g. manage your recent predictions), as well as replies to your comments and comments on your questions to make discussions around questions easier to follow. It also shows your friends' activity (predictions, comments) to help you find interesting questions and comment on your friends' wagers.
In the top right there are tasks to complete (so new users can begin to understand how to play Hubdub), and just below a zoom into your position on the leaderboard, with the people just ahead (so you can try and beat them) and just behind (so you can stay ahead of them!).
It also gives you some stats on your performance and activity.
Check out your dashboard here: http://www.hubdub.com/p/MyDashboard
Hopefully it'll make it easier to keep up with the activity on Hubdub, and make things even more fun as we develop it over the coming months.
As always, any thoughts or feedback most welcome. Enjoy!
Tom

Hi all, great question, this is something we've been talking about and it'd be cool to get your feedback.
The ways we've been thinking of rewarding / enticing question creators are:
1. Having stats like number of front page questions created, or number of people having made a prediction on your questions, on your profile.
2. A leaderboard of the above statistics
3. (Maybe) Levels of question creators based on these statistics, that would be displayed on your questions (e.g. Star Question Creator)
We want to steer clear of H$ rewards to keep that system purely for success at predicting.
What do you all think?

Hey both, sorry to hear you don't like the new feature, we were attempting to make Hubdub a more social experience, so you can enjoy seeing what friends are predicting on and start a discussion around their predictions. You can still choose to make a prediction private, and in this case friends will not see the option you selected (albeit that that can actually help game play, because other users following your predictions increases your prediction's worth).

Comment on your friends' predictionsTime to tell your friends what you really think of their predictions! You can now comment on the predictions made by your friends by clicking 'Add comment' next to them on the listings on a question page or on their profile. They will get a notification of your comment and can reply, as well as have other friends join the discussion. Let the debates begin!
(You can turn off email alerts for prediction comments in My Account -> Site Settings)

Question page rearranged to promote commentingThere's such an active community on Hubdub but many questions aren't as discussed (via comments) as they might be. The commenting functionality until now has been hidden amongst the many tabs on the question page, but we've rearranged things slightly to make it more prominent.
It is now the default tab. Details from the Info tab are available on the "read all" link next to the settlement details (which is a better context for that data), related news is on the right hand panel (as it leads to other pages, like the rest of that panel) and the graph can be enlarged in situ by clicking the Zoom button (more intuitive than a tab at the bottom of the screen).
Any feedback welcome.
Thanks,
Tom

Copy question as new for question creatorsTo save creators of commonly structured questions some clicks and keystrokes, they can now click the "copy question as new" button at the top right of the question page to duplicate one of their own questions (and modify appropriately) before resubmitting as a new question.
Only the question creator (and super users and admins) have this capability.

Email notifications on void, unsuspend, cancelled predictionsYou'll now get an email notification when:
1) a question you've predicted on is voided
2) a suspended question you've predicted on is unsuspended
3) a prediction you made is cancelled for being too late (past the cut-off time) when a question is settled.
These can be turned off from your Site Settings screen (My Hubdub -> My Account -> Site Settings)
Hopefully this will help you keep even tighter tabs on your H$.

Twitter, Tags, Question imagesHi everyone, we're just released some cool new functionality.
1. Twitter your predictions from Hubdub. On the Prediction Made screen there's a new blue box on the right. From it you can Twitter your responses to questions immediately, from Hubdub, by entering your Twitter username and password. Hubdub can remember these details so each future tweet is just 1 click, or even tweet all your predictions automatically.
Use it to show off your predictions and start discussions with your friends.
2. Tags have arrived. You can now browse to other questions related to the one you're viewing from its tags on the top right of the screen. Question creators pick the tags, and feel free to add as many as you want (it's no longer restricted to specific tags for pulling relevant news).
3. Now, finally, our esteemed question creators amongst you can upload an image with your wonderful questions. There's a box to pick a file from your computer at the bottom of the question details screen. Please, only user images you have the right to use in this way (ie. you own the copyright, the images are unrestricted or you've obtained permission from the copyright holder).
Enjoy!
Tom
