Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestions. I see two features here (1) a basic bookmarking of interesting questions that could be viewed as a list in My Hubdub; (2) a reminder feature within the bookmarks to actively flag up questions at certain points. (1) has come up in discussions a number of times and is on the roadmap (it will probably form part of the dashboard, although not necessarily from its launch). (2) may not be needed if we, say, we sort bookmarked questions by close date.

Hi everyone, like Lesley says, wow - there are some great ideas here, thank you all for suggesting them. We are really excited about putting together the Hubdub reward structure that includes levels and profile goodies. We'll be starting to take feedback on that soon - and in it we definitely want to reward all your Hubdubbing efforts and community participation, not just your cold hard virtual cash. The Hall of Fame is probably something that can come after that, once we've been established for longer (as a number of you suggest) but it is a fantastic concept.-

Hi Orlin, having spoken to many of our regular users we realize that settlement problems are high on the list frustrations. We've since placed the improvement of this process at the top of our priority list.
1. We're currently working on a feature that allows trusted users to suspend questions when they send in a settlement request. This will prevent other users cashing in their incorrect predictions before we settle.
2. We want to allow the same trusted users to settle questions, subject to some contraints still being worked out. This will enable far more rapid settlements, as they will be more settlers available in a number of time zones.
We're looking forward to releasing these improvements and seeing their impact on the timeliness of settlements. In the meantime, I'd ask you to be patient and accept our apologies for any settlements that you feel should have been performed sooner.

A comment on the idea "NEW and IMPROVED" in Hubdub:
Jenniandboys is right, the purpose of the new screen is to help new users understand the game. Destry, if you go to Site Settings in My Hubdub (http://www.hubdub.com/p/MySiteSettings) you can select where you want to go after making a prediction (fourth item down). – Tom Griffiths, on April 19, 2008 08:09

Give us some Hubdub love!Howdy Hubdubbers,
We're currently working on some marketing material for Hubdub that will include quotes from users. We'd love to feature as many of you as possible, with pictures. The first place this will appear is in the redesigned tour that's launching soon on the site, but later we may (re)use pics and quotes elsewhere.
If you're keen to be featured, please send the following to rob [at] hubdub [dot] com.
1. A quote expressing your love for Hubdub! You could mention how fun it is, how much you use it, or how it impacts your life. Remember, the purpose of the quote is to get other potential users excited about using Hubdub. One or two sentences would be fine. You guys know the kind of thing I'm sure.
2. A photo of you, preferably a head shot, preferably bigger than 300 x 300 pixels. Just be yourself! Look happy :)
3. Your city, state/province/county and country
4. Your Hubdub username (we'll link to your profile wherever possible)
5. These sentences: "I give my permission for Hubdub Ltd to use my quote and the photo I have provided however they wish, copyright free. I do not wish to be paid for this use now or in the future".
Many thanks in advance to everyone who helps us out by sending in a quote and pic! Looking forward to seeing some of you.

Make "Comments" default tab on question pageHello Hubdubbers,
We're thinking of switching the tab selected by default on the question page from being "News" to "Comments". Any objections? Do people look at the news and click through to read it often?
Thanks,
Tom

Hi jenniandboys, we like the idea of being able to 'digg' or rate a question, it's something we've been thinking about. We need to do it in such a way so as to not confuse new users with too many actions they can take on each question, but yeah, it certainly seems like something like this makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion.

Brand New Leaderboards Live!Hey everyone, we're very pleased to announce the arrival of the new Weekly % Gain leaderboards, and a reset Quarterly Gain leaderboard. Now, hopefully, more of you can enjoy the fame, fortune, luxurious lifestyle and movie offers that come with being a top Hubdubber! Well, Hubdub fame, H$ fortune, and if we ever make a Hubdub movie we promise to cast you as yourself.
Every Monday morning a new week begins, and with it the opportunity to maximize your weekly % gain for that week. Do well and your success will be recorded historically for all to see.
The Quarterly gain and All time leaderboards are still there, but now you can view any page and jump right to yours easily. This will let you compete with those around you and clamber to the top one position at a time.
Of course, all are available for the whole site or for just you and your friends.
If you're a dedicated Hubdubber but haven't made it to the top 20 yet now is your chance. Enjoy and good luck!

Tom Griffiths replied on March 27, 2008 17:36 to the discussion "New - Challenge friends to predict!" in Hubdub:
Hi NewsWrangler - you stole my thunder! We were just ironing out a few issues before announcing. So, Challenges:
Take the social aspect of Hubdub up a notch and challenge friends to predict the answers to questions you think they'll like, then get an email back to say what they predicted. You can also use the challenge feature to generate early interest on a question you create, pushing it up the site towards the homepage.
Challenges can be made to anyone via email, or your Hubdub friends by clicking their name.
Just click the 'Challenge Friends' link on any question to get going.
Track the challenges you sent and received in My Hubdub -> Challenges Sent or My Hubdub -> Challenges Received.
You can turn off challenge emails from My Hubdub -> Site Settings... if you really want to :(
Good luck finding fun challenges for your friends and getting the competition going a bit more!
(also in this release: shout order is reversed so most recent is top, and the new sortable predictions listing has category and % gain)

Tom Griffiths replied on March 22, 2008 12:05 to the discussion "Market unsuspended (resumed) without notice." in Hubdub:
I've added email notification on void, unsuspend, clarification and suspend to our dev list. The first three will be switched on by default, the fourth will be switched off by default. This is because admins typically suspend the market prior to settlement and users shouldn't get two emails per settlement unless they really want to.
