Upload your profile pictures (Everyone say "Hubdub!")Mirror, mirror on the wall... Who's the fairest Hubdubber of all? Time to find out! We've finally added the functionality to allow you to upload your own profile pictures and replace the little grey man by your name.
These appear on your profile, on the leaderboard, and on comments and questions you create.
To upload your pic when signed up and logged in:
1) goto My Hubdub -> My Profile
2) click "Browse" and find an appropriate pic
3) click OK / Select / Open (depending on your browser)
4) click Upload Picture
That's it. You can also change it or delete it at any time from the same screen.
Please get posting - we're looking forward to seeing you all. The more your pic shows you in your Hubdub mindset the better!

Hi InfernalMachine,
Thanks for this. You're right, we certainly don't want to be hasty in settling questions when the risk of calling them wrongly is too high. At the same time, we don't want to keep people hanging around waiting for their cash if an outcome is near certain but not confirmed (as in the point about settling early in rules section 2.2.6).
I've passed your concerns on to Ryan, our Politics Editor, who will be settling these questions so he's extra careful to get the timing right.
Thanks again,
Tom

Friends, Romans, Hubdubbers!Well, forget the Romans, but what happens when you put the other two together? Yes, that's right, you get Hubdub friends! And that's exactly the feature we've just launched.
As of now, you can start collecting friends on Hubdub by clicking the "Add as friend" button beneath people's profile pic. Once they accept, you'll be wedded together in a bond of mutual Hubdub affection... or rather, you'll appear on each other's personal friends leaderboards (accessible from the Leaderboards tab).
You can also invite non-Hubdub users over email, via the "Invite friends to compete" boxes in the "My Friends" section of My Hubdub (which is also where you can manage all your friendships).
So, for those of you who previously struggled to get on the site's highly competitive leaderboards and just wanted to prove to your office mates that you know the news better than they do, this could be your finest hour.
Enjoy everyone!

Hi TruthWrangler, the creator of this question set the suspend date as 6th Feb instead of 6th March, hence the ordering of the dates and automatic suspension. I've now edited it, it's open for trading, and we'll add the fact that this wasn't detected on question creation to our list of bugs. Thanks for spotting it.

Tom Griffiths replied on February 14, 2008 10:33 to the idea "Should there be a mechanism for joining duplicat markets?" in Hubdub:
Hey both, cheers for these thoughts, just a couple of points:
(1) you're right, it would be too difficult to join questions, and we wouldn't want to buy in on people's behalf because they might not be happy with the price at which it happens.
(2) what we're striving for is just one main question and no duplicates in the first place. There will be a number of developments appearing shortly to address this, including: a) duplicate highlighting on question creation, and b) links to related questions on the question page (so if a predictor sees the same question with much more activity elsewhere they can go and predict there in good faith instead).
Tom Griffiths asked a question in Hubdub on February 14, 2008 10:22:
How can we improve My Hubdub? The My Hubdub tab is where you track and manage your predictions. Right now the interface is fairly basic and we are looking to put in a number of improvements to make it easier and more fun to use. For example:
(1) Flexible display - where predictions can be sorted by category, date, amount, time to close etc.
(2) More information - pulled from the question pages to explain e.g. why a question was voided
(3) Archive feature - where you can remove old predictions that are clogging up you current view to a separate archive area.
How else could we improve My Hubdub? How do you typically use it? What problems do you have? (Please tell us these even if you have no suggestions for how to fix them).
Many thanks,
Tom
Tom Griffiths replied on February 14, 2008 10:11 to the question "No Gain/Loss Displayed for Voided Questions in MyHubdub" in Hubdub:
I should add that the extra cash you found yourself with was due to the historical refunds we gave out recently due to the initial voiding bug (where people weren't being credited when some questions were voided).
