Exactly. This issue is why reQall is becoming a pain to set up to work with Sandy--they both have the very same issue.

I just want to echo the thread and say I could be much more productive if Sandy would allow me to remind my friends without them having to have an IWantSandy.com account and without having to CC them.

Huh, I have three problems with "remind us":

a) you have to include the person who should be reminded in your email recipients - this is ok for emails, but I contact Sandy a lot via Twitter and Jott, where I cannot include any other recipients

b) we _both_ get the reminder, what if I only want to schedule something for my friends?

c) it increases email noise by having to CC my friends to set a reminder for them

That's why I really want to see the "Remind [friend's name] to do this and that" feature.

It's also not clear to me how I can use "remind us" to share notes and lists.

I tried remind us, and that seemed to do it, but helpers, this is not clear? Can you clarify, or do i need to look up a phone number to get someone on the phone since I've sent E-mails about this and this has not been answered yet?

I actually cannot really believe this isn't available yet. Especially since the guide book proudly states "add stuff to each other's calendars (the dentist appointment)" - which apparently is _not_ at all easily done. :/

I hear you there, but they haven't responded as of yet, and I hope they will read this soon. This needs to be addressed, as I don't want to have to have people sign up for a few things like phone call reminders etc. this is not that complicated I would think. But programming can be tricky, I do HTML and thats as far as I want to have it.

"Remind us" is ok if you're emailing, but if I use Jott and call in a quick note, there is no "us" involved, so it's only a half-solution. This would also be solved by assigning nicknames to friends and referencing the nicknames.

Hope they add it! Can't be hard, really... it's just another noun to parse.

Well, I've asked I want sandy to look at this amongst other topics I've posted and they have yet to reply. I hope they will, cause there is now a reply to make this simpler. What if you don't want them to become a member or something just to get a reminder to them. there's got to be a way somehow.

I agree with the above - I should be able to add a nickname to a friend, (uniquely identifiable), and be able to say "Remind Johnny to pick up milk at 10pm tonite".

This is CRITICAL for family, team and GTD use.

I've tried remind us, and got her to do what you want, however, the initial E-mail introducing them isn't bad either. But I have a similar thread which Rail told me would get to which they have not responded to yet.

This needs to be possible to remind someone with out having to include them in an initial email, because this happens all the time to guys. their wife or such tells us to remind them to do something, so I want to be able to tell Sandy right then and have Sandy remember to tell her what I was supposed to remind her of.

Make them be your friend or something so you just cant send arbitrary reminders to random people, but this would be a great addition!

I think to send the reminder to your friend you have to email sandy and put your friend in the CC: line, making sure to use the email address they use for sandy.

My impression of what this does is it gives the friend the opportunity to add this reminder to their own sandy.

To quote from the official Sandy Help Guide (http://iwantsandy.com/help/guide#sharing):

When you make me part of an email conversation, I will automatically email the other recipients (anyone else in the To: or Cc: fields), with appointments, reminders, to-dos, contacts, or bookmarks you had me create — along with iCal and vCard attachments for those appointments, reminders, to-dos, and contacts. I'll also set email reminders for them and remind them when the time comes — just like I do for you.
