I've returned with the same question in my first post! After a couple of months, are there any plans, or perhaps a roadmap line item to implement background synchronization?
For a realworld example of this, Today I am using mozy.com to do backups of my photos. Another service that I will likely switch to is backblaze.com because of the improvements in the client software.
Keep in mind, both of those are designed as disaster recovery solutions, so this isnt an apples to apples comparison, but they handle background synchronization _very_ well.
If I could get that level of auto-updating in the background with a photo sharing site, I could kill two birds with one stone, and I'd be willing to pay for it!

For me, the ideal implementation of this would be a service that runs in the background all the time and monitors a directory (my photos?) for new pics, then auto-uploads the pictures in the background.

It would need the ability to throttle so it wouldn't consume all my bandwidth on the initial upload. The ability to recover gracefully from an interrupted internet connection would be nice.

gmail import only pulling a few hundred messages
When I import, it does not collect all my mail. I have 1.8gb of mail in my gmail account, but when I import it only pulls in a few hundred messages.

Do you plan on supporting a background sync?
I have a bazillion (bazillion is an approximate number) pictures and it is impractical for me to wait for a sync on all of them. I'm looking for a photo storage and sharing site, and I was wondering if you plan on supporting background synchronization in the future?
