We definitely need to think about the nearness problem. I've been exploring weighting the nearby distance by population density. Using only recent noticings is another good idea, but I worry we might loose some of the coincidences in lower density areas. In some ways, nearby bonuses is useful to create links around the site for people to hop around.

There could be a decay - reduced points for distance (in time). More for more recent.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, it's tricky coming up with things that'll work everywhere.

Yeah, I totally agree - it's not particularly useful for town/city/county level at the moment. Unfortunately it's quite tricky to implement - but I'll have a think.

A slow trickle RSS feed is a nice idea, but probably not on the cards quite yet. There's just too much core functionality we need to work on. But, as Kevan says, the existing Flickr feed might suffice.

If you choose to in your account settings you can enable machine tagging, which means we'll add a tag to the photo that Flickr will pick up, linking back to us in the sidebar. Just like on this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/scraplab...

A group is probably beyond the scope of the official site, but we'd be more than happy if someone set it up!

Yes, that's something we're looking at - either with the Flickr favourite mechanic, or something else.

There's nothing wrong with that shot r0bsharp#. It was taken on the 9th, so it won't be imported until 3pm GMT on the 10th. In about 4 hours.

No, definitely not. We need to amend that text - it was from when we presumed the game wouldn't be much fun outside of cities. Lots of people have proved us completely wrong and we're working to make sure it's just as fun outside cities as it is in.

Always the date the photo was taken. If there is no date taken Flickr sets it to the date uploaded.

I think it's probably because those photos are a few days old. We only import yesterday's photos at 3pm GMT every day, if they're older than that then they won't get imported.

Does that make sense?

Sorry, forgot to mention this in the post. I've just updated it. Basically: yes! Tag them as red to get picked up.

I'm not sure there's anything wrong here. The score on your page and in the high score table is cumulative over the last 7 days. So it adds up the scores of everything in the last 7 days. Which seems to add up to 425 (well done!). Am I missing something else?

Both really good ideas. I think a suggestion to a player that it might not be a noticing is polite and simple.
