Well, if your wiki is private, then the files are also private, so what Guy said isn't completely true.-

They already are. To make the files easier for folks to find, you could place links to the files on a wiki page, but any file uploaded to a wiki is immediately available for anyone to download. There is no security for uploaded files. -
