Is anyone else pissed about the new "Check Mii Out" contest? The "Check Mii Out" channel is one of those free download-able channels that you can get at the Wii Store. You can submit the famous Miis you've made and have them rated, and best of all- there are contests!
The first contest was "Mario without his Cap". Since then, the contests have been "Cleopatra", "The Biggest Bully", "The Toothfairy", etc. etc... but this week it's "Luigi without his Hat"!!!! Isn't that essentially the same thing as Mario without his cap, except maybe a little skinnier and dorkier?
I'm profoundly disgusted by their lack of creativity.

Anybody else have a Gamefly account?I signed up for Gamefly (game renting website... think the Netflix of videogames) last week, and received my games about 2 days later. I'm still playing them and haven't returned them yet.
Does anyone else use Gamefly? How satisfied with it are you?
I noticed that you can actually keep/buy the games if you're satisfied with them. And they're half the price that they normally are in stores! But I imagine that you don't get the case.

Husband finds evidence wife cheating via Wii, deems her "Wiitarded".****A US soldier discovered his missus had been playing away at home after spotting a suspicious "Mii" on his Nintendo Wii, the Evening Standard reports.
The man, known only as Tony, returned from a year in Iraq to reports from chums that his wife had been cheating on him. He'd had the Wii for company while on service in Iraq, but had mailed it back to the States prior to his return.
His other half claimed she'd only kissed the suspect, a professional bowler, once, but the Wii said otherwise. Tony emailed a Nintendo messageboard admitting he'd was "confused about his wife's denials of any indiscretion".
However, he continued: "All that changed when I plug in my Nintendo Wii for some Wii Sports. I flip through the Wii menu and visit the Mii channel so I can peruse the many friends that I have created with the guys that I played with in Iraq. As I go through the characters I see there is a Mii that I have not created."
Tony concluded: "I went into the Wii message board and click on the calendar option. Through this menu I was able to identify the many nights my wife's Mii and this other Mii character played Wii bowling."
And for good measure, the offending Mii was apparently "strikingly similar" to the bowling philanderer.
The end result? "Tony has separated from his wife and filed for divorce," the Standard notes. ***

The Wii kills again!Who could forget that horrible story about the motivated mother-of-three who held her
pii-pii in for a Wii?
Less than two weeks ago, a lucky 14-year old boy in Rhode Island won a raffle at a Bruins game. The grand prize was a Wii! Who wouldn't be syked? But such giddy excitement combined with a shakey heart condition ultimately lead to this boy's death. Confetti and cheering one minute, ambulances the next.
Read about it here.
I hope he is given endless Wiipoints and unlimited buffalo wings in heaven.

Iffy review for "Mario & Sonic at the Olympics"Mario & Sonic at the Olympics looks cool in theory, but this review has me second-guessing the game's potential.
Gametraiers gave it a 6.8/10 in this unimpressed review.
"The concepts that truly shine are outweighed by moments of frustration and disappointing mechanics"
Ouch!
Anybody play it?

The Wii background music is so soothing...I just love the way turning on my Mii makes me feel. And when I look at the News, Weather, or Shopping Channel I feel like I'm in a soft, padded world where I'm always warm and never hungry.

Does anybody have the dual-charging stations for the Wiimotes? Those Wiimotes gobble AA batteries up like sweet, freshly-brewed crack! I've previously considered investing in those Dual Charge Stations.
You pop your Wiimotes into the slots when you're plucking your eyebrows, stealing bikes, or doing whatever it is you do when you're not attached to your Wii.
Plus, this price isn't bad, either!
Do you have experience with these charging stations? How long does it take to fully charge your Wiimote?
I'm going through 8 batteries a week over here. If you licked my trash can, your tongue would die of shock.

I hope every Wii owner is fully utilizing their free Wii Channels!I just realized that many Wii owners don't have their consoles hooked up to the internet *frightened gasp*. Apparently if you weren't among the first to get all Wifi, you now have to pay to have your Wii hooked up to the internet. You snooze, you lose, but please don't turn to booze.
In all honesty, I think paying for the internet on the Wii is worth it. You can read the latest news headlines, exchange Miis, and best of all- participate in those free Wii channels!

I may have elaborated my frustrations here but that doesn't stop me from thuroughly enjoying the Everybody Votes channel! I think it's because the process is so addictive: first, you add the Miis that you want to participate in each poll. Each Mii answers a question, and then predicts what answer the rest of the country (or world if it's an international poll) will chose. After the question has been on the market for a few days, the poll is then closed and the answers are tallied. Check back and you can see what everybody else said, and see how you did with your predictions. A Mii voter's history and accuracy of predictions is detailed in their Voter's profile.

The News Channel is fairly straightforward. Stories such as "Woman Crashes Car into Front of Hair Salon; Keeps Appointment" and "17th death in China from Bird Flu confirmed" are presented in a fresh manner. What makes this feature appealing is its "Globe of the World" feature, where the stories are mapped out geographically onto a cool 3D globe.

Another channel that seems mundane, but is surprisingly useful. Provides accurate up-to-date weather forcasts, and features the same globe feature that Wii News has. It's sort of fun to see what sort of crazy weather the people in Cairo, London, and Nigeria are experiencing.

You can upload your pictures onto your Wii! All you have to do is jam your SD memory card into the little slotty thing on the Wii and hours of entertainment are awaiting you! It comes with a cool doodle feature that alllows you to draw a mustache on your wretch of a best friend, disrespectful markings on your kitty, and sensorbars on your amateur porn. You can also add tasteful music to create a slideshow effect! Yayyy.

There is more to add, so check back later!

Mmm girlfriend, you crazy if you don't know!!
According to the third testiment that is Wikipedia:
The Everybody Votes Channel is the Wii Menu channel that allows users to vote in simple opinion polls and compare and contrast opinions with those of friends, family and people across the globe.
It's one of those Wii channels you can download from the store, for no charge.
Here's more info if you need it:

Despite my complaints, it's a pretty cool edition and I recommend downloading it!

Getting a Wii is tricky. For the impatient, I reccomend a source like Craig's List. You might have to cough up a few extra bucks, but meeting a couple naive- looking asian kids at Starbucks is way better than the alternative.
The employees at most of the retail stores (Target, Wallmart, Fry's, etc...) rarely have any idea what the hell is going on. You can call, and they'll probably say "Ummm errr we uh had some in last week, hehe, I think. But then people bought them all in like three hours and now we don't have them anymore." When faced with the question, "Well, do you know when you'll be getting more in?" They will shrug, but you will not see it, because you are on the phone with them. This is the type of employee you will be working with.
