tparadox replied on February 01, 2009 00:37 to the idea "Mute the world! or just certain pages." in Mozilla:
I play lots of flash games, and I prefer to keep them silent. As I use Windows Vista, I can mute the application through there. But it's a time-wasting workaround. It takes many clicks to get to the mixer panel, and several seconds to launch the panel (and then Firefox only appears if it's already playing sound).
As web video gets more popular, I am often toggling the mute button several times a day, which means tons of clicks and tons of seconds wasted waiting for the interface to come up. It'd be much simpler to just have a button or keyboard shortcut to do this inside FF itself. Or at least something in the API for an extension developer to do it.-

Crash Reporter false positivesCrash Reporter gets triggered after closing with Windows close button. Especially if the computer sleeps/awakes after closing. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 32 and the newest FF.

tparadox asked a question in Mozilla on November 23, 2008 01:00:
Sunbird calendar deletion. In Sunbird, how can I delete calendars? I subscribed to my Google calendar as a remote calendar, then I added Provider for Google Calendar. Now I have two copies of every event. I spent a while hunting online, but all I found was apparently outdated information about a "calendar list" in Mozilla Calendar.
Also, would it be possible to change my default calendar to my gcal Calendar?
tparadox replied on November 23, 2008 00:53 to the question "SongBird DVD player for download" in Songbird:
As to the first point, I would guess that putting the installation wizard EXE on a cd (or flash drive) would be enough. However, some of Songbird's functions (get an addon, fetch cover art from external source) won't work without a connection.
As to DVDs, I'd really like to see that implemented, but I doubt it would happen, at least natively. There are some legal issues I'm not too sure about concerning distribution of DVD codecs. It might happen as a Windows Media plugin, kind of like how I'm guessing protected WMP files and M4Ps work.
That said, DVD playback and Last.fm playback are the only things left for which I need separate media players. This application is going to be how I get out of iTunes (and a bunch of other media players)

Probably in the Herd?
I'd very much like to ask someone with coding-fu for a "binary to ASCII" converter.
tparadox replied on November 17, 2008 04:30 to the question "Is Thunderbird a desktop application?" in Mozilla Messaging:
Yeah. What you want is an IMAP-based email account that will leave all your mail on the server. Gmail does this. So do other services.
Gmail will also fetch mail from other services, though there are some webmail services (notably, and frustratingly, Hotmail) which cannot be directly accessed. If you want to get Hotmail on your Gmail, I reccommend IzyMail, though the free service is only a one-month trial.
Lastly, as far as taking TBird with you on a flash drive, I suggest http://portableapps.com/apps/internet...

Ubiquity is the most useful idea to come to computing since the mouse.
I honestly wish that I could use it with my entire operating system.
The handiest and most intuitive command console ever!
I was at work a few weeks ago, and somebody wanted directions somewhere. I was able to punch up a map for them without opening a new tab and slogging to Google Maps. It was really cool being able to help somebody without disrupting what I was doing.-
