Normally this happens when it fails to read the DVD. The changer will move to the next DVD that it can read then load and play it. Check the DVD to insure it can be forced to play through autopilot.

4.8.1 and Sony DVD Changers
Installed 4.8.1 Cablecast. Showing error status in Autopilot for Sony DVD Changers (DVP-CX777ES) Changers are still playing as scheduled except that they switch in about 5-6 seconds late.
