A comment on the idea "Push updates to a plurk test server before putting them live." in Plurk:
Alvin, indeed, it seems fixed. :) At the very least, even when you make silly mistakes, you're quite adept at fixing them up fast. I hope even though my comments might be harsh sometimes it's cause you guys have set a bar for yourselves and shown yourselves to be intelligent and capable. When something like this pops up, sure, it could be 'the perfect storm'. More likely, it's someone clicked and then went 'oh shit' however. :) Don't forget you guys are awesome no matter how much I bitch about it :P – trinkit, on July 20, 2008 06:51

I still seem to have intermitten issues with plurks not detecting that they've been read and not getting correct plurk reply counts and such. – trinkit, on July 19, 2008 03:34

Darthweef, if they cannot prevent that with an open algorithm, then they should not have implemented a karma system in the first place. It needs to be open and well defined to avoid frustration with the system as it currently is. Or hell, even if not open, it needs to -explain- why you just lost .9 karma (not enough plurking) or, XXXX stopped following you, or XXXX muted a plurk, etc.

Tabs are broken.Tabs as filters function incorrectly. If you view new replies, and then click to view a tab, it only filters those new replies instead of taking you back to 'all plurks' or 'my plurks' or 'private plurks'. This update is a mess all around.

Push updates to a plurk test server before putting them live.Plurk should push changes to a test server before ruining user experience. It's common practice online to test changes and updates thoroughly before pushing them into the live environment. I know you guys are smart, or you wouldn't be able to produce something like Plurk in the first place, but, something like what's happened today is fairly rediculous and a rather noob mistake.

VOIP3500 SpamVOIP3500 Spams 96 plurks a day, a plurk every 15 minutes. It shows up frequently in 'interesting plurkers' as well somehow this person, plurking 96 times a day, -gains- karma. Whereas if I happen to plurk 1 over 30, I somehow lose karma. This is ridiculous.

Teeg for community evangelist.A personality on plurk that has been absolutely riveting. I believe she'd be a good choice for this job and it's known that she's put in an application. I'm just casting an extra vote that says I believe she's the person for the job and I think the rest of plurk would get behind her just as easily.

I like this idea, but would like to add in being able to issue plurks to certain cliques and people via info in the plurk. Although, I would also hope that the commands wouldn't be considered part of the plurk for purposes of the 140 character limit. I suspect these kinds of features will come to light once the API is more established. At least, I hope the API becomes more established, the unofficial API is... well, unofficial :P-
