Direct link to access the "Buy prints" dialog overlay (from an outside site), to improve conversion ratio for "pro" members. Currently getting the "Buy prints" dialog overlay requires 2 clicks (after getting to the smugmug image page). I want to be able to reach this dialog without those 2 clicks!

i don't want to require authentication. i do want to allow guests (anonymous) users to post, and that's why my site is configuted this way.

of course, i am fully aware that it is easier for spammers to post as guests, but still if there was an option to disallows any comment that contains a link or URL, this would not be such a problem.

if such an option was available, i would use it, since it is very unlikely that someone would want to post a link in my comments - besides spammers.

and by the way, spammers often have way to authenticate (look at flickr: it is plagged by spammers who are able to automatically create any number of yahoo accounts automatically, and then post spam on flickr). so requiring authentication would certainely reduce the number of "legit" comments, but the relative amount of spam (vs legit comments) will probably remain the same.

as long as spammers are allowed to post a comment that contains a link to their website, they have an incentive to post spam.

i already mentioned it to Anna Shtraus who works for js-kit. this is quite an obvious idea, and i would hope that some people in charge of the spam issue know about it, if they are not completely brainless :)

you must be joking.

you certainely know well that spammers are actually not human. they are using sophisticated bots, and those constantly change IP (using bot-nets), and change user names (or post as guest).

i know about Akismet , but apparently they are not good at detecting those sort of spam.

i would really like to have an option to disallow all comments that contain an html link. that would take care of a lot of the spam posted on js-kit comment.

every day i receive several of those spam js-kit comment like the one i left

basically they contain a URL to a site being adverised by spamming
js-comments.

i also get many similar type of spam by email, so clearly this is a new
genre of spam that spammers are using the last few months. could you do
something to prevent those?

or maybe, could you offer an option to prevent people from posting any HTML
link in thier comments, until this spam problem gets resolved? if links are
not allowed in comments, it would remove an incentive for spammers to try to
get people to click on them.

please let me know what you think of that, and how your Akismet friends
intend to deal to that.

same here. when i click on the "OK, I STILL WANT TO BLOCK THIS PERSON" button to confirm the blocking, i get a bogus page with XML (instead of the confirmation).

however the blocking appears to have been taken into account.

that's an example of what i don't want - cell and space are not consecutive (i'm only interested when they are consecutive). although this particular twitter was quite cool...

"track" indicates that i track "cell space" (i don't track "cell" nor "space"). yet, i keep getting twitters where those two words are not consecutive (i.e. there are other words between them).

so there seem to be a bug, or their FAQ page / documentation is incorrect.

note that i issued the command:
track cell space
(and not: track "cell space").

maybe that makes a difference?

for example, i want to track posts that contain the expression "cell space".

but if i issue "track cell space", it tracks all posts that contain the word "cell" and the word "space", e.g. "cell phone and living space". i don't want those. i only want posts with the expression "cell space".

is there a way?

maybe your image has an embeded color profile? most browsers (e.g. IE) ignore color profiles and they’ll assume they’re in the sRGB color space. try converting your images to this color profile.

it would be nice if the string used for matching could start with the poster name, for example, or if there was a trick to include the poster name in the "track" pattern.

I want to track posts like:
"EarthQuake M 4.8, location" (where location is anything)
but i don't want to track "EarthQuake M", because then i would get things like
"EarthQuake M 4.2, location" but i don't want that, because i want only the postings that start with the string "EarthQuake M 4.8,".

but apparently tracking such postings is not possible.
i tried

but this does not catch those posting.

what is the solution?
