+1 I'd like to voice my support for this as well. I receive e-mail from a lot of people using Outlook. And so this rears it's head more than I'd like.

Attaching rtf files seems to give the same result. Instead of an bona-fide attachment, the rtf is placed inline. On the receiving end, this winds up looking like gobble-de-goop.

If you hold the shift-key down while pressing the 'New Message' button on the toolbar, an html email will be created if the selected account is set to use plaintext. The reverse is also true - to create a plaintext message for an html account, hold shift down while clicking 'New Message'.
