UPDATE:
My original idea was to use tags and not IDs but I changed my mind. I think IDs are the best way, but they need to be visible somehow.
The coolness of closing todos/milestones with commits is in connecting the todo to the commited code, for instance, closing it with a comment: < link to the beanstalk changeset >.

Exactly, I want to be able to close todos in basecamp with tags in commit messages. You can see the todo IDs in Basecamp in the todo href am I right?

API - Todos and MilestonesHi,
I'm a user of both Basecamp and Beanstalk. I would like to see some tagging system in todos/milestones so that I could close todos/milestones through beanstalk commits. Since basecamp already has timetracking capabilities that would make an awesome addon.
Ok, a possible workaround could be to comment todos/milestones with a particular format and make beanstalk consume that and close them appropriately.
Of course if I could tag in Basecamp it would be best ;)
Thanks-

Basecamp Todos/Milestones integrationBeanstalk should integrate with todos/milestones through a basecamp tagging system. 37Signals should implement this :1
A workaround could be BaseCamp todos/milestones commented with a [tag] format that beanstalk would consume and close appropriately.-

feed importer amnesiaI just found an issue with the feed importer. I was having some updating issues with vimeo so I removed the feed and all the entries and imported it again. Everything worked fine, the issue arose some hours later when all vimeo entries showed up on soup again. I believe that happened because the vimeo import was scheduled before I delete it, and the scheduler doesn't know about it.
I also noticed many delicious entries are duplicated in my soup too, maybe a similar situation occurred with the delicious import.
Another idea is to avoid the importer from importing something it already did in the past..
keep up the awesome soup.io ;)

feedHi guys!
I feel that feeds in "Me Elsewhere" should have a timestamp of when was the last fetch and when it will be the next one for each particular feed. I was asking myself today why my vimeo feed wasn't updated for a day now, and don't have a way of knowing why... :1
... or something like: "Updated 2 hours ago, fetching every 5 hours"
thanks ;)

Language weird shiftWhile browsing through my friends tab I hit a page where everything is in german "Später" and "Mehr" instead of "previous" and "next" and the page header is in german too.. :\

The Tumblr's discuss feature is one way to do it but personally I find it quite noisy. IMHO soup should not include inline comments for that reason and implement an integration with Jabber (xmpp) for commenting. That would be pretty neat. Giving the opportunity to reply to a comment in our IM instantly and establish a contextual conversation with other souper's fully logged on our soup ;)

Im repeating myself here, just said the same thing on another thread:
I would to.. Just needs to be non intrusive.. I mean, you can have a link "comments (4)" or something and clicking on it would send you to the single post page with all the comments expanded.
A soup is a microblog so it shouldnt be "comment centered" but I think it should have that option, maybe you could add it in the "options" drawer?

Tiago Serra replied on February 13, 2008 14:58 to the idea "Force endless scrolling" in Soup:
I see.. can't you just cancel the unprocessed request giving it room for the new one? Somehow that doesn't make much sense because the endless-scroll "GET" request was already closed right? So a new one shouldn't be a problem. Am I saying something stupid?
HTTP 1.1 standard does indeed have a limitation on the number of simultaneous connections one is capable of doing to the same server (domain). But I don't think that's the issue here.
I must say I didn't test it. But I can do it later in the afternoon.
And yes. I do confirm that.

That is a good idea but assumes your friends are on soup (and logged in to see my soup). I do think its a nice feature for soup'ers though. Humm... I think the best option for doing this would be to have a separation between friends and soup owners. When I create a soup I can add other people emails which are owners of that soup too, not necessarily friends (who have another soup). Those would have soup accounts indeed but linked to a single soup. What do you think?
