Wasn't trying to come off as an ass. Sorry to everyone involved if it came off that way.
Actually, this wouldn't have been publicly acknowledged until after a fix was in place if I would have had my druthers, but not much I can do now that it is. That said, I contacted GoWalla directly last night with the specifics of the exploit so they could address it.
A comment on the question "Could this work on an iPod Touch?" in Gowalla:
As "that Swicegood person", I find it incredulous that you don't believe I've perfected my light-wave transportation device and legitimately spent some time in Spain and stopped by the Apple store in London on my way back to Lawrence. Haven't you seen the Jumper?! :-D
Seriously though, there is no score integrity here. I was kind of sad when I loaded it up with natehaas and was able to see way to spoof this that easy. What's more concerning is that the one piece of information we needed to pull the spoof off is still valid some 24 hours, multiple check-ins, and a password change later.
All it takes is one change to have completely denied this attack, and one other change to ensure that even a compromised account could only be used once. These are the kind of things you should learn in web security 101. :-/ – Travis Swicegood, on October 01, 2009 22:01

Add notes to existing page instead of loading a second pageOn the pagination links at the bottom, instead of each click sending you to a new page with different data, make an AJAX request to get more data and just append that to the existing page. That would be great for loading all of the notes of a given book on any particular page so you could view them all at once.

Expand notes when viewing notes for a particular bookWhen viewing the notes for a book page, it would be more helpful if all of the notes were expanded. I love the smaller notes in the main feed, here it just seems like I shouldn't have to click again to view the note.

Custom book statusesIt would be great if you could edit or create custom book statuses. Having the defaults are great, but I'd like to have one titled "keep an eye on" or something like that where I can put books that I want to check into, but don't necessarily want to put on my wishlist.

Page count broke on iPhoneSomething changed in the last few days on the page counter that caused it to quit working on iPhone Safari. Might be the upgrade to 2.1 as it started happening around then. At any rate, you can view the modal for updating the page count, but when you go to save nothing is updated.

Page spans are rejected if not numeric with no notification.If you try to add a Page Reference that has a dash in it (like pages 1 - 2), the form will not submit, but no notification is displayed explaining what's going on. After about the 3rd time hitting "Save note", I figured it out, but would be nice to say what the deal is if only integers are allowed.

Would be really cool if multiple notes on the same book were combinedFacebook and Ning compress multiple notifications on the same "item" into one entry. Instead of seeing "James is attending Birthday" and "Joe is attending Birthday", you might see "2 of your friends are attending Birthday: James, and Joe".
Something like that with book activity would be awesome. I've added notes that were taken from a few books today and effectively took over the activity feed with all of my entries. I'd say have a 6'ish hour window. If multiple entries on the same book are added, combine them into one entry. Same thing for adding new books.

Errors on Norman Mailer pagesThere's JS errors when trying to add a Normal Mailer book - The Castle in the Forest (9780394536491). The quick add results in the Add Book button being replaced with Error. Going to the book's page results in two JS errors. I believe the second error (user not defined in jquery.site.js) is cascading off of this mal-formed JS on the page:
var book_edition = {
'id': ,
'isbn': '0394536495',
'pages': 496
};

An idea for the tags inputIt would be really slick if the tag box would expand to a text area once reach the limit of what can be displayed. Took me a while to realize that I could just hit enter after each tag.

Import from other readers?Is there a way to directly import from Google Reader and/or via an OPML file, or am I just missing the boat?
