tulip asked a question in Geni on January 22, 2009 01:58:
How can I get my questions answered by a human?I've posted questions/concerns in this format, and directly to customer service at Geni. Despite several email responses from "Luann", my questions are not answered. Is there a customer service phone number? I'd like to discuss my concerns with a person.
tulip asked a question in AT&T on January 22, 2009 00:46:
When will your wireless service improve in San Francisco?I've been an AT&T customer since July - only for the iphone. Since July, I have reported problems with my service, i.e. 80% of all calls dropped, intermittent internet access, inconsistent voicemail access, etc. Spoken w/ countless (courteous) representatives & technicians. Had the SIM card replaced. Had the phone replaced. Was told this morning there is Zero coverage in my zipcode: 94102. Wish I had known that when I signed up.
How does AT&T get away with charging $110/month for "service" when there is none?

I do not have an account with you. I have tried to eliminate all correspondance from your company, but as my question states, despite my efforts, they do not stop.
Are you suggesting by "bug" that it is just a random coincidence that the same exact thing is happening to my mother and to me? We live in different states and obviously have different email accounts. When we each click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of each email from you, nothing happens - i.e. we continue to receive unwanted emails from you? And when we both click on Notification Settings, we are taken to an error page?
It seems highly unlikely that we are the only 2 (non) customers who are experiencing this problem. And since it is exactly opposite of what you espouse in your Privacy Policies, doesn't it seem like something worth looking into?
I am waiting for someone "to take the opportunity to look into this specific issue." In your FAQ's "Unsubscribe 100%" is one of several similar questions. So, even if this is not a malicious, manufactured scheme applied to the masses, my mom & I are certainly not the only fluke "customers" to deal with this frustration. You are "certain"? this is not a general issue affecting all customers? How about just to the ones who opt not to subscribe and instead try to eliminate your spam?
Forgive my frustration, all I have received from your "help@geni.com" is confirmation of my query. And I just want this invasion to stop.

Noah, I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my question -- but did you read my question?
I have tried - UNSUCCESSFULLY - to unsubscribe from your emails. My mother has tried as well.
When I click on "Account" or "Notification Settings", I am taken to an error page.
Pictures were attached in my initial question and are attached again here.

I don't think it's right to state in your privacy policies that you will not do something and then do it.
Based on your recommendation, I have contacted help@geni.com. However, you (and everyone at your company) should be aware of the user experience you are providing. Certainly your practices and policies do not match.
thank you,
Rebecca

Please stop spamming me! pleaseI have attempted to unsubscribe from your notifications on several occasions. You state in your "Privacy Policies" that you "will not Spam me or my relatives" -- yet you ignore my "unsubscribe" requests.
"Detailed notification settings allow you to control which emails you receive from us" - when I click on 'Notification Settings', I am taken to an Error page. "You don't have permissions to view this page".
So, despite stating you will NOT spam my inbox (or those of my relatives) - you DO.
And, despite stating I have the authority to set my notifications - I DO NOT.
I should not be forced to sign up for an account in order to not get spam from you.
My entire experience with your company/site has been irritating.
My mother is extremely upset because she too marked your emails as spam and continues to receive them. She feels her privacy has been violated and she is powerless to stop your intrusions.

Why can't I email someone at Paypal directly? Why do you have to log in to your account to ask a question? I can't just reply to their emails directly.

for Chloe's dadWhy can't I reply to an answer from Chloe's Dad?
Anyway, this is my reply:
'm happily employed, and am merely offering an observation/suggestion. It seems strange to have a job openings page talking about how great the company is w/out any mention of job openings. Maybe you could have a thingy that says, "no openings right now... please check back soon"
thanks!
