JB I "assume" it's a problem on their end, as while searching through this site there are a lot of other users complaining of the same problem.

Other P2P streaming sites go about 800kb's for me, so there shouldn't be a problem downloading a small MP3 file (i presume mp3 anyway but besides the point)

I get the same problem too. Sometimes works great, other times works terribly slow. Got so bad I cancelled my premium membership. I know it's not a problem with my computer or or internet as other sites work fine, and I reinstalled Windows a week ago. Was doing this before and after reinstall. It's ridiculous too that the search goes so slow too at times. Hopefully you'll get better speed soon from your servers :)

A comment on the question "Spotify suddenly so slow as to be useless" in Spotify:

this does not work, as i was using linux and was going slow, went back to windows and still the same speed, therefoer obviously reinstalling it each time. its a server speed problem you need to work out. even the loading of song lists are slow, so its not a p2p problem. – turblety, on October 23, 2009 09:57
