Great to read the feedback, thanks! I actually did discover that Twitterfeed added you (and is.gd I think) to their service, so good news there. – Foomandoonian, on June 13, 2008 16:27

Hi Mark. A little update on your question. A few weeks ago, we launched our Jabber integration and at that time, all the Twurls where tracked you would post through our API.
However, since Twitter has been experiencing some stability issues, they've disabled the Jabber service so we're unable to reliable track all links. We're currently looking into alternative solutions.

Hi Garth. Thank you for your suggestion. Apparently more people are interested in this feature so we'll look into it. I'm not sure if we can actually unpack URLs from other services (they would have to provide an API) but we are interested. – Michiel Sikkes, on June 13, 2008 16:21

Hi Foomandoonian. Great to hear you second thefluffanata. The feature is up on our feature list to implement.
It seems Twitterfeed has integrated us, so thinks for the support! You can now choose Tweetburner as an option in your Twitterfeed account.
Also, it's a good idea to write a little Tweetburner API. Maybe I will post it in a blogpost at first with some code examples, and after that create a Wikipage somewhere so people can join in on improving it. Thanks for the suggestion! – Michiel Sikkes, on June 13, 2008 16:20

Hi thefluffanata. We love the idea and think it's a great and easy to implement solution if more people are interested. Nothing the replies to page, I think there are :) Will put it on the feature list. – Michiel Sikkes, on June 13, 2008 16:18

I second thefluffanutta. In fact I emailed Summize suggesting that they should perhaps use you instead of TinyURL, since you have some nice Twitter-unique features. They replied with a short email saying they would look into it.
I wish Twitter Feed would switch to you too, so I guess I''d like to see anything that could make that happen.
Also, It'd be nice if you could write up a short API tutorial, as you have such a simple service it would be ideal for beginners to try out. I know I would appreciate it! I know that's hardly your responsibility, but there you have it.
Thanks!

How about an API call that returns the Destination of the Twurl? (Expanded).
There are some mashups like Summize and Twitturly that show the destination of the Twurl, instead of the Twurl itself. They do this for other shorteners too, though I don't know how. Maybe they simply scrape the destination off of the /links/xxxxx page.
So, I thought, why not have some simple HTTP GET or POST API call which takes the link, and returns the Destination. Kinda like the inverse function for the twurl generation API.
For example: sending "unlink[twurl]=6l0xsh" to http;//tweetburner.com/links
could respond with: http://blogsearch.google.com/
I don't have a specific need to for this, I just thought it would be cool to have.
As a bonus, you could also include the total and unique clicks, which would have some interesting applications.

ops ... here (http://groups.google.com/group/Snipur...) the SnipURL Editor say it's in to-do list :-(
Sorry ...

I'll take a look at this when I next get a chance. The API docs at snipurl aren't very detailed - do you know if this uses HTTP basic authentication, so if I make an API call providing credentials, this will be automatically appearing under that user's account? – Mario Menti, on April 29, 2008 07:17

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the report. Not all links get picked up at the moment, we're still working on a good Jabber integration to catch all Twurls shared on Twitter.
But dispite that your Twurls must be picked up. At the moment posting via Tweetburner is the best way to go, we ensure the Twurls are picked up on your statistic pages. Posting via Twhirl is a good option too, we've haven't come across problems there.
There is a Wordpress plugin available which you can find here: http://trebel.nl/blog/wordpress-plugi...
Feel free to contact us on further questions. We're working hard on a good solution here. We're short on time at the moment, but we'll be launching it in the near future. Announcements on this will be via our blog or Twitter account (@tweetburner).
Regards,
Bob Jansen

Which statistics are you missing? The statistics on the frontpage of Tweetburner have been there since day one. Today we will start developing a seperate statistics section. We'd like to know which statistics you're missing or you would like to see in the new section.
