What's happening Tapulous? You guys seem to have given up on Twinkle?

In it's current state Twinkle has all manner of problems that people are reporting over and over to you, with little being done in the way of fixes (or even responses lately).

Are you working on an update? Or has Twinkle been put on a back burner while you work on your "Tap Tap" apps. I understand if you are doing this why you would as they are paid apps and that's where the money comes in but I think you need to look after one of the apps that got you started. A quick look at your blog sees it filled with wonderful news about the Tap Tap apps but nothing on any others. (Don't get me wrong, I love them too!)

Basically what we need to know is:

Have you dumped Twinkle?

We need to know so that we can too if that's the case and not stick with a frustratingly buggy app in the hope that there might be fixes/an update one day.

The nearby feature on Twinkle is useless to me as I blocked someone while there were problems and now any time that person posts near me I get "an error occured while refreshing"

I have pretty much given up on Twinkle. It's a shame as I used to love it so much, but just can't really use it any more. People are flying away from this app in droves Tapulous, I think you better get things sorted!

I've still got the problem. If I block a user and he shows up in my nearby search then I get "an error occured while refreshing".

Now, as I can't see the user, search for the user or unblock him it has completely broken the nearby search for me unless I am in a completely different area.

I hope this gets fixed soon, in the meantime I'll have to move to another app unfortunately, and seeing the amount of posts on Twitter (doing a "Twinkle" search) where people are saying "Twinkle is broken again" makes me wonder if we've all got the same problem.

Hope you guys can get it fixed soon as it looks like loads of people are dumping Twinkle because of it's unreliability

I get this problem too. Fine with wifi but when I try and use EDGE I get the error. It doesn't seem to take too long for the error to come up either so not sure it's timing out.

I recently had a similar issue with Evernote and the problem was something to do with the way my network "zip" packets or something like that so for the records here is the network I am on:

However, it looks like that might have caused another error!

Now, when searching nearby, if I choose a target range (lets say 25 miles for example) that would normally have included my blocked user I get "an error occured while refreshing".

To go into further detail....

The user I am blocking is 11 miles away from me, so if I choose 5 or 10 miles it works fine.

If I choose 25 miles I get the error

If I choose 50 miles I don't get the error, I assume that this is because there are so many users filling the 50 miles search that my blocked user wouldn't appear?

Be good to have a fix for this too!!

Same here. Got a user in Slough showing up within 25 miles of me, every time I block him as soon as I refresh he's back

Yes, go to settings and turn off "Broadcast Location" and "Auto Refresh Nearby" and it works without GPS and won't keep nagging you unless you press the "Nearby" button at the bottom

I much prefer using Twinkle to Tweetsville (as I'm sure a lot of users do, no offence meant to Tweetsville) and understand why you might not put it into Twinkle as you might lose out on people purchasing Tweetsville?

Personally I think if Twinkle had search built into it then it would be the perfect Twitter app (and I have tried a LOT of them lol)
