A comment on the question "Can't get no satisfaction..." in ClickOnTyler:
Have you tried accessing the site with the 8888 port number? As in, http://newhost.site:8888 ? – Tyler Hall, on November 22, 2009 01:35
Tyler Hall replied on November 22, 2009 01:33 to the question "getting php pages to load" in ClickOnTyler:
That question is actually a bit beyond the scope of VHX as it's purely an Apache configuration issue, but, to enable PHP, take a look at this post...

To decide which file is automatically loaded, you'll want to modify the DirectoryIndex directive.

Tyler Hall replied on November 09, 2009 16:55 to the question "Twittersearch API not responding" in ClickOnTyler:
Unfortunately the error message says it all - the Twitter API (which Incoming uses to fetch its search results) didn't respond to your search.
Overall the Twitter Search API is very good, but occasionally it does have trouble with certain searches. The best advice I can offer is to try again. But, if you keep having trouble with certain ones, feel free to email me a list of your searches and I'll take a closer look. support@clickontyler.com
Tyler Hall replied on November 02, 2009 06:33 to the question "Can I get virtual Windows to recognise VirtualHostX sites?" in ClickOnTyler:
Try using VirtualHostX 2.0's local network sharing feature. It will let you access your hosts from inside your VM using Bonjour.

If that doesn't work for you, there are a few tutorials on the web for using VirtualHostX with Windows. A quick Google search should find them.

I've had a few users email with this same problem. In each case MAMP was able to start MySQL but not Apache, and there were no errors reported in the error logs. It turns out that there was a conflict between MAMP's Apache and Apple's built-in one. Disabling Web Sharing in System Preferences fixed the problem and allowed MAMP's Apache to start.
