Hey look at that. Airfoil Speakers for Linux in combination with the WaveInput for Linux squeezecenter plugin does the trick! I think the only way you can do it directly from iTunes is to purchase an airport express (or another apple product that supports AirTunes, such as the Apple TV I tihnk?), and plug the audio output into the line in on your Linux system, and also use the WaveInput plugin.
Without that, you're going to end up paying for AirFoil on any client system you want to send audio to the target squeezecenter server.

A comment on the question "Message truncated after (and including) a double dash (--)" in Ping.fm:
That's a little bit odd, but I understand what you're trying to avoid. Shouldn't you only assume it's an email signature if it's "\n-- \n" ?
Also, it seems like you ought to avoid stripping out what's thought to be an email signature if the user is posting the update from the web or IM (which is what I was doing). – uberjay, on June 26, 2008 22:56

Message truncated after (and including) a double dash (--)I tried to post the following:
says, "Life is complicated--clearly the solution is a mocha."
and the message was truncated after complicated. The "--" and everything following it was not in the message posted to both facebook and twitter.
