For everyone with GApps, the answer is here: you have to make technical changes to the SRV records of your Google Apps account:

I did it and it worked immediately. Sigh.

My username is "umjeremy" and I'm trying to use the GTalk integrated client in the Gmail service hosted by Google Apps. I have previously had success using the sidebar GTalk client in regular Google Gmail. However, once I switched to Google Apps, Athena won't validate.

Hello, I used notify.me for my google account via GTalk notifications, and athena worked perfectly. However, now that I moved to Google Apps, I keep trying to verify the account and it won't work.

Adam, thanks for your diligence. In the original instructions on ping.fm, it says to add the "pingbot@ping.fm" chatbuddy, who never verified my request. http://ping.fm/im/jabber/

However, I'm still one step away from success. The pingdotfm@gmail.com chatbot verified me instantly, but it won't accept my registration code. Any help?

Can you use Google Apps to contact the GChat bot? I've sent the invite, unsent it, and resent it multiple times, but the GChat bot won't confirm it...so i can't send the invitiation code.
