I think it would be great if companies have the option to display a page where they can inform the community how exactly they decide to accept or reject a suggestion. Something like "idea management policies". Users would be able to imagine why a feature request or other suggestion doesn't make it for so long and more importantly, they would be able to give suggestion for the process of evaluating suggestions itself.
PS: I for example like this known procedure: after discussion of an idea, a moderator makes fills a table with the following four columns: "pro-s", "con-s", "question mark" (things about the potential of the idea not clear yet), "possible applications of this idea in other areas". Once the idea can be clearly seen from these four perspectives is should be easy to make a sensible decision.

a measure for comparisontime this may take to implement:
months
would this be useful to everyone:
not sure, so it would be good to have it as an option only
how important is this for me:
medium importance

It is a common situation in the software realm to find out that there are a few "best applications" in a given category - all of them have some terrific features, but none having them all; usually x has what y does not have so a user may end up in need of both products.
While having an ideal have-them-all-features-in-a user-friendly-interface is nearly impossible to make, it is not a bad thing to strive for one. GS can help developers strive for one easier by opening what I can image as "the ideal application wiki feature list". For example: a wiki for the ideal browser to which users would contribute all the features that the ideal browsers should have. And so on for any other category of software. (Maybe the best caegories to start would be "the ideal wiki farm" or "the ideal community support platform").

I would love to see monthly chart tables of applications (from any category) ranked on criteria such as:
- speed (defined as the loading speed compared to applications form the same category with nearly the same feature set);
- innovation (defined as how often new features, interface improvements and the like are introduced);
- features (defined as the number of features);
- user-friendly interface (defined as how easy it is to navigate and customize);
- graphic design (defined as the subjective feeling of beauty of the interface);
- support (defined as time it takes to fix bugs; how much attention is given to user feedback; how well (or bad) users are treated in correspondence; manuals and trainind or availability of a platform for know-how exchange between users, etc);
- interoperability (defined as availability of a portable version; possibility to import and export a wide variety of formats; an easy way to exoprt/ import settings; compatibility with various OS-es).
Wakoopa users could be invited the 3 best applications they know for each category as well as the 3 worst.-

It would be great if a user would filter all the posts labeled as "The company is considering this idea", etc, as well as an rss feed for new posts under each such label (already mentioned here: http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa...).

In the of case software companies I wouldn't reject a free copy of the next update or at least a discount. But even if it is not a software company I'd still love to receive software (by my choice preferably) as a reward - and software is easier for companies to send as a gift than say T-shirts.
But above all, I'd love an idea of mind to be considered for implementation as a reward for all the rest ideas I've contributed.-

Being online even with the status "do not disturb" does not prevent contacts from disturbing you. The orange icon showing the number of sent messages in the "do not disturb" mode does distract even though no window is popping up.
I am suggesting a new status label: "will be available from hh:mm to hh:mm". Skype will be offline except in the designated hours; there would be an option though for selected contacts to see if you are online.

From the point of view of a first time web visitor, I can say that I need only one thing to see clearly: what the site is all about. What can I do here? How can it help me? I need to learn this in a glance. A few keywords, no more than three sentences, maybe a diagram. Or some visual metaphore (picture). That's all I want to see, everything is a distraction, clutter, nonsense, boredom.

The ideas is companies to have the option to add a section for collaboartive markteting - space where customers can offer ideas how to market the product better, point tips how to "sread the word" more; upload banners, animations, etc made by them. Just like in http://www.spreadfirefox.com/ or http://community.wikidot.com/promote . Probably companies can open make this by using the API but it would be easier to have it in some "pre-fabricated" way and then choose whether to have it or not by ticking a box.
