This was the first time I had problems with pdf conversion. I walked back through the additions to my page and realized that there was a section of text that had been cut and pasted from email (Thunderbird). It seems that the formatting associated with that text caused the problem.
I retyped the text in question manually within the edit page, erased the text that was pasted in and... success!
Suggest checking the source of text embedded into your wiki. It has worked for me cutting and pasting from a word processor, but not directly from email.

The best answer I've gotten so far has come from a direct email to PB Wiki. They gave me to two overview wiki pages that give several ways to produce PDFs of pages:
"I'm sorry the PDF generator isn't working right. Until we get it fixed, here's a work-around I've been using.
http://help4all.pbwiki.com/PdfCreator
This may help as well:

Since I am running a classroom project, it helps to have the explanation and links all within these links so I can just post them for students.
None of it is ideal, however, so I hope this issue will be fixed as soon as possible.
There is no strange formatting or fonts on my pages, so I don't think that is the problem.
Thank you for responding to my issue, however! :)

See this page for work-arounds if you really need PDFs.
