well, considering my request was put in waaaaaaaay before they changed the rules, then they should at least honor my request, don't you think???? Thanks for the info. You suggest that "customer service" might be overloaded....you imply that they could give a crap about customer service in the first place. Clearly they don't.
Leverage the Web reported a problem in Facebook on February 20, 2009 23:10:
You say you can do it for me, but you simply won't respondI submitted a request to change my group to a fan page TWELVE DAYS AGO. In my original service request I specified that I had already reviewed the FAQs which was how I knew that:
a. it could be done and
b. that I had to go to a specific form to do so
Here is the entry from their FAQs:
Q: How do I convert a group into a Page?
A: If you have a group that fits into one of the categories offered for Pages and you are the official representative of that artist, business, or brand, we can help you convert your group into a Page. Please fill out your request at http://www.facebook.com/help/contact_..., by selecting "Pages" from the list of options and providing us with the URL (web address) to your current group and the URL to the group you have created. We will transfer over the group members and any discussion board posts, reviews, posted items, and wall posts to your new Page. Photos and videos cannot be transfered at this time.
So, since I went to the form and filled out the request, WHY won't they respond???? The only response I got from them was an email with the SAME FAQs (grrrr). I see here that they also ignore this forum.
So, they say they can help "...convert your group into a Page" but they really don't. They don't do it, they don't want to, they just pay the whole thing lip service to look good. nice!

I just gave up and unistalled it. I also stopped telling people about it and when I am asked (because I do seminars on LinkedIn) I tell them not to waste their time, the app just does not work. I hope wordpress comes out with a tool for blogs other than those on wordpress.com soon...I've heard rumors of this. When that happens I will go into full evangelist role and be sure that people understand that the six apart app is simply a waste of time and effort.

Search Friends/Followers by Name or by Domain?maybe power twitter could find a much better way to search my friends and followers by names, emails etc.....the twitter interface makes me page backward and shows them to me in the reverse order I followed them. For example, I want to @tweet a friend of mine, but I can't recall her @name I would love a way where I could search by her first or last name, or her website domain....what'ya think?-

The most abysimal customer service experience regarding a very buggy software "app"I have been TRYING to get an answer to this question SINCE EARLY NOVEMBER but have been unable to from your "customer support". They told me that I have to post a comment on a specific blog post ( http://everything.typepad.com/blog/20...) in order to get a response to my issue with BlogLink (?????). I did this (even tough that approach is RIDICULOUS) but STILL have not gotten a response.
They have only jerked me around, over and over. For example, when I asked them why I hadn't received a response to my "comment" which was to serve as a customer support request (give me a break!) they then wasted several days to get back to me and ask me WHERE I actually left the comment....WHERE YOU TOLD ME I HAD TO!!!
Here is my original question...SENT IN ON NOVEMBER 4!!!!!
"I've tried to add the Bloglink app to my linkedIn profile, but it seems to get hung up and then it says "We could not find any websites or blogs for your contacts.". I have over 1,200 contacts - MANY of them are bloggers who have already reported using this app - so this is just not possible. Also, I have my own blog listed under my website....does it have to be under the title "My blog" or will it pick up blogs for websites that are listed using the "other" feature and writing the title of the blog?????"
Even now (did I mention this problem is now MONTHS old??) the BlogLink app on my LinkedIn profile shows that it is perpetually "LOADING" in conjunction with an animated horizontal barber shop "loading" bar.
WHEN are you going to address your BUGGY software app so that it WORKS AS DESCRIBED???????

Leverage the Web asked a question in LinkedIn on November 06, 2008 21:25:
BlogLink Application Questions....What Am I Missing?I am confused by the BlogLink application. My first question is how does it get triggered? I ask because when I view my profile, I don't see any posts from me or from my network. The only way it seems that you "trigger" it is by clicking on "add an application" and then click on the "Update Settings" link. When I do that it reviews my contact list and it brings up all of the posts from my connections in a list form on a separate page. Is that what it is intended to do?
I thought it was intended to post links to blog posts people make in the "Network Updates" area?
Also, if I have my blog listed as one of my websites, but I don't use the standard moniker "My Blog", but instead I use the "Other" and write in my blog's name....will BlogLink see it? The instructions for the application really don't explain this very well, IMHO.
Thanks,

Hi Van,
I have done as you suggest. I also changed my status update to be available to EVERYONE instead of just my connections as I previously had it. I also changed my status on FaceBook and Twitter.
It is just outrageous that LI is treating paying (and non-paying) customers this way. Once again they only seem to be interested in TAKING AWAY functionality rather than adding more! I've just never seen anything like it! All of the issues above are so incredibly short-sighted and the fact that they can't bother to respond to this issue here just shines a bright light on their backward sense of "customer service". LinkedIn's classic non-communicative approach just adds insult to injury.-
