this doesnt answer your question.. but my theory is that Twinkle is running their own network that piggy-backs off of Twitter.. which is why you have to make a Tapulous user account.. and also why things like PM/DM Replys and Adds only seem to work within Twinkle.

yup i will add to this thread with my own weird sequence of twinkle FAIL.

1. review local twinkles.
2. find someone of interest and follow them
3. go to twitter.com, shows im following them
4. never shows any of their tweets. if they are using twinkle to update.

also direct messages and replys made it twinkles dont make it to my twitter page.

lame.

in regards to their timeline the blog is lame and lacks any insightful information.

actually if your looking for information reguarding their dev time.. the only thing i have found to be useful is to go to www.twitter.com/socialthing and read the responses that have been posted to other questions about development.

iphone version has limited featureset.. which is probably why he is going with the full version.. at least thats my guess..

so this doesnt solve your problem completely... but. install Stylish or GreaseMOnkey for FireFox. then overwrite that min-width attribute to make things a bit more flexible... this wont carry over into your FluidApp but at least you can have a socialthing.com window open in a smaller for factor.

We are experiencing a large growth in traffic, and the way we were grabbing data for some of the services was not scaling well. We hope to add these services back in soon (and work on a way to make it more clear to the user what is happening).

doesnt show up for me either.. im guessing it was one of the services that was 'temporarily disabled' during their beta growth period. which is understandable, but it would be nice to see which of services were disabled.

Features dissappearing after contact merger.

So.. i might just be looking in the wrong place but after i merge contacts i lose some of the features/abilities that i had when they were separate entries.

For example.

John Doe Tweet - "This is my update!! "
John Doe Facebook Status- "This is my update!! "

Once these two entries are combined, i lose the ability to reply to the tweet.
Any suggestions?

Thanks... i had to rename *both* of the feeds a common name for it to take.. but then it worked like a charm. Id say... as far as intuitiveness goes... it only struggles in the fact that i have to rename both of them..

but im very happy now. thanks

Oh is that all i have to do? Cause i actually did click on it.. and was pleasantly surprised to see i had the option to rename the contact... but even after i did that they didn't 'combine' ... i just had 'John Doe' twitter feed / break / 'John Doe' facebook feed.. but ill try it again.

Is there a way to merge contacts?
For example, I have a friend who is on both Twitter and Facebook and when he makes updates i see two separate updates which are visually disconnected.. Is there a way to have them visually grouped together like what happens when someone makes successive updates ?

did that make sense?

So i was hoping it was a one time bug.. but i restarted and tried again and was able to replicate... but this time i wrote down my steps and took a pic..

How it happened...
1. logged in.
2. click on 'reply to tweet'
2a. i closed the 'reply to tweet window'
3. clicked on 'settings' tab
4. clicked on 'votes' tab
5. clicked on 'post' tab
6. clicked on 'llifestream' tab
7. clicked on 'reply to tweet'
7a. no visual change.
8 clicked on 'vote' tab and BAM! there it is
