I have version 1.1.0 and topics disappear. Topics have never worked for me. This is the biggest problem I have with PB.

I have this problem. I have Version 1.0.1 If there is an answer in and for 1.0.1, where is it?

Hi Scott, thanks for responding. I did some more examination of what is happening.

Answer: The topics disappear from the messages the topic was assigned to. The topics never are displayed in the favorite topics sidebar.

Background:

I add the Topic Column to the list of messages. Then I assign a topic to a message. That topic name appears in the Topic Column and any related messages also have that same topic name appear beside the message in the Topic Column. I do the same thing for several other messages, adding topics so that I have 10 or so messages that have different topic names in the Topic Column.

No topic names ever appear in the Favorite Topics Sidebar as I am adding the topics to the messages. I click “show all” on the Favorite Topics Sidebar but none of the topics are listed. In the “New Topic” dialog box, all my topics are checked so as to appear as a Favorite. All my 13 topics are checked so as to be listed as a Favorite.

In my previous post, I said that the topics disappear when I close one account and open another. But I discovered today as I was exploring to answer your question that the topics disappear from the Topic Column beside the messages when I close PostBox and then open PostBox in the same account that has the topics AND then scroll down. After I make topics, they appear in the Column, but when I close and open PostBox in that same account the topics appear in the Topic Column, but as soon as I scroll, all the topics disappear and I have a Topics Column that is blank.

When I wrote my original post, I could see the topics when I reopened the same account and incorrectly stated that the topics only disappeared after I switched accounts — the topics disappear in the same account after closing and scrolling in the reopened account AND topics never appear in the Favorites Topics Sidebar at any time.

This is a big problem for me. My e-mails are such that it is not practical for me to move messages to their own Folders in the Folders Sidebar. Thus, I have one long list of messages that I eventually move into Folders categorized by date which is virtually no organizational help at all.

Server Name: imap.aol.com

I am using 1.0.2. I have AOL and several AOL screen names in Postbox.
I have been using PB for several months. Topics disappear when I open another account and then reopen the account in which I made the Topics. This is always what has happened from day one.

Like everyone I use E-mail constantly.

PostBox speeds up my work with my multiple AOL screen names. PostBox is easy to use. It has already increased my work efficiency enough to make my purchase today of a license and the lifetime upgrade option a good business deal for me.

I rely heavily on some free utility programs and services, but for most of my applications I like a paid version better than a free one. Typically, the cost of a program is still a good deal for me when I get no advertising, a better designed and functioning interface, less bugs, more features, better support, less conflicts with my other programs, and future product development.

Several of my favorite software companies produce a free version of their applications and then one or two levels of paid versions.

For my use, I hope the several problems with Poxtbox get fixed and that along with a free version there is a paid version with most features and a pro version of Postbox to choose from — tomorrow.
