I have the same issue with a latitute d600. i purchased a new power supply (pa10) but at first it didn't seem to work. the green light was on but the battery led was flashing 4 times red 1 time green in a loop. i removed the battery and it started. i put the battery back in and it seemed to be ok. the battery charged to about 45% and the green leds on the battery were on 3/5. i then closed the lid to put it to sleep, and when i reopened it later it was dead. the battery still shows 3/5 leds, the led on the power supply is on, but when i plug it into the laptop it starts flashing. and no matter what i do i can't get it to boot.
