Time for some action here: is IM support coming back or not? Without IM support, Twitter is nearly useless, as the API update limits effectively kill conversation.

The Twitter IM bot is still offline as of now, so people who are trying to verify their accounts won't be able to. People with existing, verified IM accounts are able to receive tweets from Twitter, but are unable to post updates via IM.

Jabber (gtalk) is currently unavailable due to problems we experienced last Friday. We've made blog post about this and have also put a note in the UI. We were hoping to get it turned on sooner, but we're still working out the issue.

I some different kind of problem with that.
I'm using pidgin and added twitter to GTalk. I recieve updates but I can't send the confirmation text from twitter.com or send updates. Though 'help' is answered by the bot.
Now seriously... what!?!
