A comment on the problem "pbwiki can't handle "%" in urls" in PBwiki:
Aha - I see. I was looking at the example and thinking this was a page on the user's wiki. I'll definitely bring this up with the engineers again and see what we can do :) – Rachel Pennig, on April 30, 2008 23:43

Rachel: from the original post: "I'm trying to link to content that I do not control, so I can't change the URLs".
This happens a lot with European sites that have special characters in the page names (like ? or Ø. Those characters are URL-encoded as hex values beginning with a %-sign. As you can see, a PBwiki page with the Swiss name "Brü ends up looking like this. It's not always possible, or acceptable, to rename the page with the ASCII equivalent; ask someone who speaks Spanish the difference between 'añand 'ano'.
If PBwiki wishes to grow beyond the US, they will eventually need to support international character sets.

WAC@DU reported a problem in PBwiki on April 30, 2008 21:42:
pbwiki can't handle "%" in urlsWhenever I put a URL with percent symbols in the text of a wiki page, the automatic links replace the percent symbols with plus signs. The URL appears correct in the wiki page, but if you click on the link, it tries to go to the wrong address.
Example:
Text says "http://www.pbwiki.com/mysite%tomorrow%schedule"
Link actually directs the browser to "http://www.pbwiki.com/mysite+tomorrow+schedule"
I'm trying to link to content that I do not control, so I can't change the URLs unless I use tinyurl, which I will have to since at present all of my links are broken. Is there a way to fix this bug?
