I started development on a Palm Pre Foursquare app this weekend. Right now I have it where I can login with basic authentication and search for nearby venues with GPS and check-in to them. I built it just because I was tired of having to type in the name of a place on the mobile website.

I don't have a lot of time to devote to it, but I should be able to get it into a homebrew-worthy state soon. The big issue I haven't figured out is that the API returns inconsistent JSON objects based on what the search query was.

The nice thing about the Ping.fm integration is that you don't have to manually post anything to Ping.fm... with notify.me if you have a feed for a calendar or a photostream online, you can hook it up to post to ping whenever something like that gets updated.

Once it's set up you don't need to constantly go post that you just posted something somewhere else. And no one needs to build plugins specially made for your RSS feeds to post to Ping, as long as it's a valid feed it will just work.

Just launched v0.16 of the application (relaunch app to update). You can now have it store your credentials and you'll automatically login when the application starts.

This is a feature I'm really excited about in notify.me. Filtering and grouping by tags will allow for some creative sets of notifications to be made, which I hope our users share over on wiki.notify.me
