Do you know how this works? I'm not a big fan of apps that simply send stuff through email, Infinite SMS used an actual Gateway, which was cool.
Also, Guys at Infinite, if you really are done with this chapter in your company, perhaps the best thing you could do is make Infinite SMS opensource, and see if the community could take it to a new level.
Please consider this idea.

Move Infinite SMS and Keep it Alive!First off, it blows that Google had decided to cut off external XMPP access, although I suppose it was almost guaranteed to happen with so many users using Infinite SMS. But is this really the end?
I think that innerfence could still keep Infinite SMS alive with one of the following options - of course, it would take a lot of work, but it would be worth it for all the customers you have. From my experience, keeping customers is a lot more important than always making money.
1: Use another SMS Gateway! Google is good, but surely there are others out there. Try working with those companies to keep Infinite SMS alive.
2: Get your own SMS Gateway. I'm not sure how much money you made, but you could purchase your own gateway and have complete control over everything that goes in and out.
I'd love for Infinite SMS to stay alive, because going out and shopping for a new texting program is just going to be a pain in the butt. Already I have found some which have built-in limits, and ads displayed; nothing as pretty as Infinite SMS. Take these ideas into consideration as you continue to move forwards and not let problems get in your way.

SMS Still Works For MeWith the recent flood of people saying how much it doesn't work, I would like to point out two things. First of all, this isn't the companies fault, I'm sure they are working on it as we talk. Secondly, the app still works for me. I have version 1.3, I have not updated it, but I sent Text Messages today, and gotten response. Infinite SMS still works for me, so I'm not sure if it is a problem with version 1.4, or Google. Because if it is Google... why can I still send Texts?
Also, the Lab Text feature is still in Gmail.

I think you may recall me saying in my other post that if you had gotten this recently, pursuing a refund may be a legitimate option. – Wayfarer, on March 10, 2009 12:30

Hey Innerfence, I'm posting in this topic because, well, I'm being intelligent. I love this product, keep up the great work.
Okay, onto my point. I recently Jailbroke my Second Generation iTouch, and have been using backgrounder to run Infinite SMS. Voila, wonderful little problem solved. However, I also added a wallpaper to my Home Screen - you know, besides the usual black. And, well, I found out that your icon is not transparent like I had thought, but has a lot more black in it. This picture is what I came up with:
As you can see, the icon is not transparent, so there is a considerably amount of black around it. My suggestion is to make all that transparent - so people with... different backgrounds don't have an ugly piece of black around the pretty little text Chat Speech Bubble thingy.-

Landscape Switching - Small BugHey, I think this goes under an idea rather than an issue because the program runs fine, it just doesn't work as well as I think it should. Again, I'm a huge fan of ours, I love this app, you guys are doing brilliantly, keep up the great work. As a blooming developer, I appreciate what you guys are doing.
So, here is the issue. When you load a conversation in Portrait mode, and then switch to landscape mode, It doesn't bring you to the bottom of the conversation. Rather, it simply brings you to where you were in portrait mode - see the pictures.
Those two pictures show me switching the iPhone, and the conversation staying where it was, instead of the bottom of the screen as this screenshot shows:
So my suggestion is to have the conversation scroll too when you flip to landscape mode to keep the bottom flush, instead of the top.

Not sure I can follow all the nit picky stuff here, but I do agree that Infinite SMS could be compacted just a little bit more to make it cleaner. Don't really care which path you take, and if you really, really wanted too, you could add options in the settings that would allow the user to customize the UI a bit.-

Also, it would be really beneficial if when Infinite SMS was running in the background (backgrounder.app, extremely useful) that it didn't use up too many resources when it checks for new SMS. With the new Sound Notifications it makes the PERFECT SMS app (thank you!), so having it run constantly in the background without reducing performance is a big concern of mine.-

Infinite SMS Version 1.2Thank you so much for Version 1.2! It comes with Audible notifications and delete function, it really is just what we need. Next is landscape typing, but I know you are working hard on that. So Thank You for getting this out quickly, it's just what I was looking for!
