Search by common usernameI'd love to be able to search by someone's commonly used usernames. This sort of replicates Friendfeed's old "imaginary friends" feature where I could make a profile and find my friends' comments across the web, even if they refuse to create a backtype profile.
Wayne reported a problem in boxee on August 07, 2009 19:51:
Instant Watch title availability out of sync with NetflixI've noticed that certain movies are not allowed to be searched for from within the boxee search mechanism. I can usually find these on the Netflix site or instantwatcher.com but boxee won't show it to me. A current example of this is Step Brothers, but there have been a few others in the past. If I go into the Netflix instant watch site and queue up the movie, it has always been visible in my queue via boxee and can then be watched (though I haven't tried it with Step Brothers, yet).
I've also seen the opposite, where boxee tells me I can watch a movie but when I try to play it I get an error. To verify, I've checked the Netflix site and the movie was not available for instant watch at that time, anyway. A past example was the Sgt. Bilko movie.
I'm guessing that there is some kind of synchronization issue with the Netflix API and boxee. Maybe misreading expiration data.

I've thought about this a few times. Boxee is truly revolutionary in that it allows us to even think about our content in this way. That makes me excited.
If you asked this of a media company even 2 years ago, most would have told you that it was a distant dream. I love that it now seems like such a simple evolution of the existing boxee product.
While I can understand the Applications menu versus the Local media top menu item, it kind of seems like a step away from the unification of content that boxee could be. Ideally, you could say that you felt like seeing an episode of Scrubs and that doesn't matter if it's hosted on Netflix, ABC, Hulu, or your Local machine. Boxee would have an index that was robust enough to present all of the seasons and episodes at its disposal.-

Screen scrape Auto and Home PricingMint should automatically pull your auto appraisal from Edmunds or KBB to keep track of depreciation and market fluctuations for you. I saw this was marked as implemented, but I'm assuming that was the manual entry, which is nice. However, it would be nice to assist the user with evaluating their net worth in these areas, more. Maybe providing a few links to appraisal sites, even, if screen scraping is out of the question. For auto, I would imagine a link to Edmunds and for homes, perhaps a link to Zillow. Might be a nice direction to point folks.-

Wayne replied on October 25, 2008 03:45 to the idea "Is there a way to make a mailbox an RSS feed?" in OtherInbox:
I was looking for it first in the main interface, like in the list across the top-right (around "Feedback" and "Settings"). Some users may find it intuitive to have a "Feeds" icon, I don't know.
I went into Settings, and found Filters, but was confused by it only showing RSS options for all of the inbox, I would think that there would be a good place to show the related concept of mailbox feeds, as well.
The third idea would be to use the browser's RSS recognition to your advantage and make it context smart per your mailbox view, if possible. This is building off of savvy user's intuition of looking for the RSS feed icon next to their URL and handling it like they do the rest of their feeds.

Is there a way to make a mailbox an RSS feed? When I get messages in a certain mailbox, I might want to access just that one mailbox via RSS feed. Currently, I can only access an overall picture of my mailboxes via RSS, instead of just a certain mailbox.-
