William marked one of Helen's replies in NHS as useful. Helen replied to the idea "Everyone in the UK should have a check-up every 6 months by their GP.".

I thought the Government has started to do this with over 50's.. and it's encouraged for ppl with conditions - diabetes, smoking, cardiac, etc... Are we not at risk of just encouraging a comfort service (and adding associated cost) for the "worried-well", rather than truly targeting the limited resources?

Doesnt display properly with IE8 (unless in Compatibility mode)Using IE8 (beta 2) and the white background is slightly off-centre with the front section of the SmartLook. it works ok, but cosmetically compromised.
I realise this is beta, etc, but i am presuming this is something to do with the CSS/ etc changes and worth noting as it will be released at some point!
Works fine with Compatibility mode enabled.-

A real let downI should never have signed up. I was naive and thought it would help me with my iPhone - keeping contacts etc synced. the PC experience (syncing capabilities, and browser choices) is really second-class to the mac one - and i dont appreciate that. i pay the same amount and am loyal to apple. In fact, it taints my experience of using the iPhone. Windows Live and Windows mobile sync better than this.
William gave praise in Microsoft Live Labs on November 08, 2008 14:39:
Incredible technology which is so cool and usefulQuite incredible technology. I look forward to this being baked into some Microsoft products (Windows Live Photo Gallery wave 4 perhaps?!), rather than staying as a relative stand-alone. if this was an apple product people / press would be going wild. great work!

o2 could have better managed communication amongst their staff at the call centres as their are pages of frustration on the o2 forums about staff contracting themselves, but the website issues were to be expected. I ordered mine fine at 08:00 on the Monday morning, and received it on the Friday as planned. I suspect that the exclusivity deal wont stick for that much longer.. ATT may have a 5 year deal. I doubt Apple would have done the same in subsequent territories

While I am not debating the merits of charging for an update (that is reasonable, I'll admit that),I'm just a little confused that these charges started out as being necessary "for accounting purposes" (when adding aditional functionality) and now migrated into a charge for the function itself. Whatever happened to the accounting issues? And if this is the case, has Apple paid out for all iPhone users upgrading the software?

Apple's own Mobileme demos done in Firefox (on Windows). Why not Safari?!I was wondering why Apple's own mobileme demo's / screenshots are using Firefox rather than Safari on Windows... seems a bit odd really.
