A comment on the question "How important are ethics in product choice?" in weather angels:
You are correct, our demographics are predominantly male, probably the same breakdown as those who watch formula one or other male related activities. We have several woman fans also, but yes mostly male.
As for the pricing, remember that the prices are in New Zealand dollars by default.
This brings me back to the original question, the base t-shirt is made by an ethical textile company and the base cost of the shirt is about 3 times that of a cheap sweatshop alternative. I realise for a lot of people, a cheap price is more important than the ethics of the manufacture and how they treat their employees or if they employee children keeping them out of school and paying them a pitance and keeping them in appalling working conditions - this was my original question, do people actually look at whether textiles are made ethically or not? I hope one day the majority will ask - how was this item of clothing made and weigh this more highly over how cheap is it. – Weather Angels, on April 29, 2008 21:22

the Prius has one of the highest customer Satisfaction ratings here in the States. People who drive them swear by them. The two complaints I hear are that they're sometimes hard to get, and the fuel savings isn't always as significant as expected (this has much to do with style of driving, of course). Overall, everyone I've talked to says it's hands down the best of the hybrids.

Any Prius owners out there with feedbackWe were looking at getting a Prius as the new company vehicle. In NZ there are few options for hybrids but there is a company that imports them and they have the Pruis Gen 3. Am curious what people think about them though that have been driving them for a while.

Personally I will buy one product over another if that product is produced by a company that thinks about renewablity and ethics in it's business. I will pay the little bit extra to buy an ethically produced product over one that is not.
it is hard sometimes to find information about how a product is produced.
