weaver gave praise in Feedly on July 13, 2009 09:31:
Good product and good support, a winning formula. For a heavy duty Google Reader user as I am, Feedly is a godsend. Not only that, but the company has been quick and professional helping me troubleshoot a little proble I had with it, even if it was not a problem with the product. Highly recommended.

You were right edwk, it was a cookie problem after all. When I installed feedly I set an exception up, to allow third party cookies from feedly.com among other sites. I know I did that, because the installation wouldn't proceed without that step.
Today I was going to clear the cookies, but I found I had none from feedly.com. So I checked the exception and it wasn't there. I have added it again, restarted Firefox and all the images show correctly now.
I guess Firefox crashed the day I installed Feedly and the new cookie settings weren't saved. I don't remember it crashing, but it happens to me every now and then (mostly with sites using ietab), so that could be the reason.
To anyone with the same problem: make sure you're allowing third party cookies from feedly.com. Check that you actually have the cookies (in options, privacy, show cookies).
To feedly.com: thanks for your support. That makes a good product even better, and I updated my feedback for Feedly accordingly.
Best regards.

I have no received further feedback. Here's more information.
- where it's not working the path to the images is as I posted above.
- where it's working, the path includes the build number instead of "latest".
- in both cases, the reported build number is the same (as shown on the botton of the preferences page) is the same: 2.0a.009 build 2754.
I'm willing to conduct any tests you want. I don't think you should mark this as solved yet, by the way.
Thanks.

Let me get to that in a moment. You still don't address the main reason for my complaint (the fact that you can't access settings while there's an encryption error). Can you give me any justification for that? Can you come with an explanation? (and please get as technical as you need, I can follow you). Do YOU personally see the logic of it?
Now, about the encryption key settings: it is not a matter of "easy". There's nothing difficult about changing a registry setting. But it's cumbersome, and poor product design.
Does your product guarantee that I will never have to reset encryption? No. I can forget the key. Or an "encryption error" can happen out if the blue, like it did for me, and force me to reset it anyway.
Since there are situations where I have to reset encryption, a setting for it is needed, period. Stick it a red "danger" sign if you must, but let the users decide. Anything else is patronizing. Hiding complexity from the interface and then advising the users to edit the registry is worse than patronizing, it's incongruent. I know my way around the registry, but not every mozy user should.
About having two different encryptions on a backup set, I guess that's an unavoidable side effect of the product's design, and something the user will have to live with if he's not careful. You could always give a warning, giving the user the chance to reencrypt everything to the latest key.

Running 2.0a.009.2754, same problem. Is there a newer build? Thanks! – weaver, on July 09, 2009 10:05

Hello Mike. Thanks for the answer. I realize that this is not an official support forum. I didn't get any answers from support at first, and anyway since I was using the free mozy, I'm not even sure I had any rights to support, other than the KB which proved insufficient. I do know that some of you people were answering topics here on getsatisfaction, and that's why I brought my problem here.
I'll answer your question now. I have no problems with encryption, because I gave up Mozy for Windows. I still use the free version with my Mac, since it hasn't failed on me yet, but I don't rely on it for serious stuff
My main complaint was that a problem with the encryption key should never prevent me from opening the settings dialog and changing my settings. On top of that, it would be nice if I could use that settings dialog to reset the key (instead of resorting to a registry hack).
If those have been fixed, I'm willing to give the free version another chance. I can't consider the paid version unless the free version works flawlessly (within its limitations).
Best regards.

Thanks for the quick reply :)
My Firefox reports I have the latest version, but I just reinstalled feedly from your site, in case the Mozilla server is out of date. What I have now is 2.0a.009 (build 2754)
I still have the same problem. Of course, I restarted the browser and made sure I reloaded the page, in case the content was cached.
Oddly enough, it's not happening on another desktop (also Firefox 3.5, but on Mac). The images show correctly there. I forgot to check the exact build version there but I wil when I get back to it.
Any ideas?

weaver reported a problem in Feedly on July 07, 2009 09:18:
Feedly icon images are broken in several places. It happens with the digest page (the icons for "mark as read", "search for topic", etc are broken), and with mini feedly too. When I go to the image URL, I get a 404 "Not found" error. These all appear broken (perhaps others too):

http://s3.feedly.com/production/lates...

http://s3.feedly.com/production/lates...
What I get is a 404 error with the text:
Not Found
The requested URL /production/latest/images/icon-mini-share.png was not found on this server.
This is all happening on Firefox 3.5 with latest feedly 2.0a. Other feedly icons show properly.

A comment on the question "Forwarding Contacts via iPhone" in Apple:
Yes James, I know. That's part of the problem. Apple has official support forums but ultimately, they are no more than user communities with little to no feedback from Apple. The fact that we end up coming here to vent our frustration speaks volumes about their official support. This is more of a rant than any actual hope that they might take a hint and talk to their customers. – weaver, on December 20, 2008 08:21
